I hope that this hasn't been posted about before (didn't find anything in the search results) but there is a new, hilarious festival for the gullible occurring right down the street from me at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. It's called "One Breath One World" and the people putting it on (well known woo vendors) are calling upon the credulous to come and pay $99 for a night of breathing alongside Sheryl Crow.

From the description:

Using a special breathing technique —the audience builds up an electrical energy in their body. This energy is highly tangible and everyone feels it. Most describe it as blissful and very powerful. Thousands have done this practice all over the country at our Qi Revolution Events.

Live music and breath instruction guides this conscious audience through the ultimate ALL-IS-ONE Experience. It’s easy to say We Are All One, but its another thing to “Experience” the oneness through your physical body. The effects are life-changing. I personally like how they include a commencement (for $99 I had better get a diploma!) and implore you to "be a part of a major healing for our planet, our people, our lives, our world," as if standing in a room with a bunch of people and breathing actually contributes anything to anything other than the promoter's bank account. I hope they at least have the decency to pump MDMA into the air ducts...

They deleted my post on their wall almost immediately.

My ex used to make a lovely roasted garlic and romano cheese spread, guaranteed to peel wall paper at 30 yards... Just in case you want to go and have fun.
 
Isn't Sheryl Crow the one who said people should only use one square of tp when wiping? I am not sure I want to breath near her.

LOL! Here is her quote, I remember reading it a few years ago and thinking, don't quit your day job Sheryl!

"Although my ideas are in the earliest stages of development, they are, in my mind, worth investigating. One of my favorites is in the area of forest conservation which we heavily rely on for oxygen. I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting. Now, I don't want to rob any law-abiding American of his or her God-given rights, but I think we are an industrious enough people that we can make it work with only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where 2 to 3 could be required. When presenting this idea to my younger brother, who's judgment I trust implicitly, he proposed taking it one step further. I believe his quote was, "how bout just washing the one square out."
 
Does this include a Remembrance Day service at 11am 11/11/11?

ETA: Oh, the commencement is at 11pm, which begins at the passing of the 23rd hour of the day, rather at 11am which begins at the passing of the 11th hour of the day. They couldn't even get the hour right.

These people should feel the power of jumping next to hundreds and thousands of other people in synchronicity. Or humming. Or chanting. Or moving in expressive body gestures.

There must be something paranormal about social animals all participating in a symbolic act of connection,.... dancing with the stars? No, no,... dancing to the stars, moon sister.
 
Is KotA involved somehow? You know, he could unite this with his "Moment Skywards"...

11/11/11 is the day to celebrate the band Spinal Tap. People who've seen "This is Spinal Tap" can figure out why. 11/11/11 is also a great day of celebration for corduroy fans. The date resembles their favorite textile.

Either she was joking, or she didn't realize that her brother was.

The idea might have some merit, however, if they make TP ten times thicker.

It's believed the ancient Romans used a wet sponge on the end of a stick I think. The question is, were they communal sponges in the public bathrooms, or did they carry them around with them.
