My avatar also comes from Reefer Madness. Meredith did think one person Amanda invited to the flat was strange (Juve?), but he and Amanda were just friends. Pacelli's rant is so typical of the nonsense that has permeated the case.

Does this go on in other trials? I don't think so. Usually prosecutors have actual evidence to summarize.

It depends on how the judge/jury sees it. My opinion is that it will show the court what type of argument has been used against her in the first trial and how worthless that argument is.

Pacelli: Why didn't #amandaknox say this is a lie, that Patrick was innocent. "The liar Amanda" didn't say anything to correct accusation.

Can't they see what a crazy double-bind this is? The only way Knox could have known anyone was innocent is if she'd been there.

Halides- I noticed. It's unvelievable the emphasis placed on this when everyone, including the older, professional (rather than student) housemates, and Meredith also smoked. What's extra weird, is that my experience of Italy (and particularly Perugia) is that it's fairly easy to get hold of hash, but not that easy to get hold of weed (skunk). Hash is usually quite weak in comparison.

I hope Rose is right, that these arguments will give the judges and lay judges a good idea about what rubbish formed the basis for the charge and conviction.

I've got a feeling the hours of irrelevant and incoherent bull crap are going to backfire on the prosecution. First Mignini and now Pacelli is pulling his Fidel Castro length speech, and still no credible reconstruction of the crime, no motive, no timeline. Instead we hear nonsense about vibrators, condoms and cartwheels (again!). I suspect when Maresca gets up we'll going to learn how truthful, innocent and sincere the poor boy Rudy is.

This is really going nowhere. It's enough for the defence to present the simple facts about Guede and the real reconstruction of the crime.

Lumumba certainly has got his revenge. He has no idea what kind of person Knox is or if she's guilty of murder. But he's arguing this in court anyway, through his lawyer.

He also knows that Amanda Knox probably told the truth about how the police were treating here in interrogation, but he keeps quiet about this anyway, blaming her and supporting the police instead.

What Knox did to him was no good, even if she was under pressure but this brutal character assassination makes Lumumba even worse and not telling the truth about the Perugia police makes him a liar, for whatever sad reason he has chosen to support the police and attacking a fellow victim of their questionable methods.

Could the defence called Lumumba to the witness stand to give evidence about the working methods at La questura? Then I think they should have done so.

People talk of Meredith being forgotten in this process, but Rudy is usually confined to a footnote in articles about Amanda. He usually only gets a 'Drifter Rudy Guede was also convicted of the crime', right at the bottom of the article.
I guess 'News from Italy' don't bother reading to the bottom of the article.

Agree. This trial is full of exploitive characters.

Knox is quirky (and I do think she has Aspergers), but she has more integrity than the all three prosecution teams and the police force summed together.
