Merged Evidence for why we know the New Testament writers told the truth - (Part 2)

I think the fact Amb and Akhenaten won't answer that simple question shows they are for the most part totally incapable of being unbiased.

Of course you are totally unbiased. No laughing dog,he just asphyxiated with laughter.

...So DOC, the fact that medical history has no evidence of Resurrections only means that you need more solid evidence to convince people that it did happen in this one special case 2000 years ago.
But you do agree that if an all powerful God who created the universe existed a resurrection would be possible don't you?

You answered mu before, which leads me to believe you're a Buddhist, are you?

Do you agree that there is no modern documented medical evidence for resurrections?

You answered mu before, which leads me to believe you're a Buddhist, are you?
you originally thought I was jewish...

Um, you do realise that that note (on paper you keep insisting didn't exist) is hearsay evidence to us in 2011? You cannot interview the purported author, and you have no way of telling whether the person who wrote the manuscript was telling the truth or making up a fairy story.

Carbon dating gives an error margin of +/-40 years for items 2000 years old, so you cannot even state with certainty that the manuscript is contemporaneous with the alleged resurrection of your homeboy.

You still only have hearsay evidence, even in your hypothetical.

Note only that, but even if we do accurately date the parchment, we still won't know how old the writing is. Even if you date the ink, that just tells you how old the ink is, not when it was put to parchment.

<blah blah blah>
My simple question was if God exists do you believe miracles (such as Christ's resurrection) are possible?

That's a big "if". Since no god has been proved to date, I reject your hypothetical out of hand.
You see, you're attempting to form an argument based on begging the question.

If we assume God exists, and then if we assume God can perform miracles such as resurrection, and then if we assume God resurrected Jesus, then we can conclude that the bible is correct and God exits! And therefore our assumptions were correct.

And if I assume fairies exist, and that fairies deliver inspiration, and that fairies inspired Charles Schultz, then Peanuts is proof of Fairies!

Asinine.

And rejected for the nonsense it is.

A smart man once told me something about assumptions: They make an ass out of you and me.

Using that reasoning you should reject the educated guess that life came from nonliving chemicals over time since it has not been proved to date.

Correct. There is no evidence that God created Man out of the earth.

That part of me that the bible says "from dust thou art and from dust thou shall return" is made of non-living chemicals, yes.

DOC, if we go by 'that' part of the bible, does a rabbit chew the cud?
Is a bat a bird? I just wonder where you fellas draw the line, that's why I ask.

Unlike you, DOC, I have no problem saying "I don't understand how it happened".

I have no need to invoke a bandaid called"God". Other people understand the subject, and if I wanted to, I could get educated on the subject. But it would require lots of effort and studying, and frankly, I already have an Engineering degree and a career. Becoming a biologist would take time I'm not prepared to give, money I'm not prepared to spend, and an interest I frankly don't have.

Now, do you intend to ever present evidence that the New Testament writers told the truth, or will you keep thrashing through the wilderness of unproven assumptions and unsubstantiated claims, in your no doubt fascinating career as a question begger?

So you believe a simple question about the existence of God, miracles, Christ, and the resurrection are off topic?

Apparently you do. People have been waiting for you to provide evidence for these fairytales for years and all they have to show for their time is utter nonsense such as idiotic requests for links to scientific documentation for the impossiblity of resurrection, mindless dreck about Julius Cæsar's autograph, excerpts from The Moron's Guide to the History of Paper and and endless preaching about how much better Jeebus' Bizarro World™ is than the objective reality that most of us live in.

But you do agree that if an all powerful God who created the universe existed a resurrection would be possible don't you?

There's no doubt about it, but it's looking increasingly like you won't realise until Anubis is feeding your mortal heart to Ammit the Destroyer that the silly little thing the reedcutters invented to scare their children with has nothing to do with all-powerful gods.

You answered mu before, which leads me to believe you're a Buddhist, are you?

Those Johnny-come-latelies? What would they know?

DOC,

Is there some strategy as to how you choose which of your 8 possible replies you post at any given time in your threads? You know, the Thomas Jefferson post. Or the Luke the Historian post? Or the why is this all about me post? Or is it completely random? After someone asks you to answer a question you wish to avoid, do you wait x-number of posts before pulling out one of your 8 replies? Or y-number of hours? Who taught you the "So,..." format but forgot to teach you the use of question marks?

Just curious...

DOC,

Do you agree that if there is a dragon in my kitchen, I can sell my toaster?

That's an oral tradition, carried over from the days before there was paper.

So I assume if someone found a buried manuscript in Jerusalem that carbon dating said is 2000 years old that said, "I personally witnessed Brian come out of the tomb and my name is Petra," you would then become a Christian based on the found manuscript.
Same difference...

Would you accept that?;)
