I really wise this fetish of the cognitive bias would disappear - although I doubt it will. The problems of logic you see among Truthers are so complex, I doubt they can be explained by these kinds of mechanism - although I have no doubt that Kruger & Dunning disagree with me. Many of the Truthers here are probably just outright liars talking about this 9/11 Truth garbage for their own ulterior reasons. Probably a much more useful concept is the idea of status anxiety (which is only loosely related to the recent book by Alain de Botton).

I have a training in science and work full time in engineering. Weird things happen all the time. I don't just pretend they didn't happen, I find root cause and fix them.

If the US gov wanted to MIHOP 911 they would simply have sent a undercover CIA guy to suggest the idea to Osama. It was a simple idea, with the only normally tough part being finding people who wanted to die for their cause. Osama had those by the dozen so all he needed were 4 that were smart enough to be able to fly a plane.........he found them and the rest is history. the other hijackers wouldn't even have to know what was planned (though it appears they did) for it to work.......4 suicidal nuts and a little money and you have 911.

No, you can answer it now. You have made it clear what you believe happened on 911. What you haven't made clear is how you can rationalize the perpetrators being at the same time extremely stupid - flying jetliners into buildings that are supposedly impervious to jetliners - and extremely clever - being able to pull off the most intricate attack of all time and keeping it a secret for 10 years.

How do you do it? I'm actually curious.

You "know" the official story is incorrect and you believe the WTC towers were impervious to jet airliners.

Why do you believe the perpetrators elected to fly airliners into buildings that were supposedly impervious to jetliners? Do you not think this is strange? Do you not think that it is more likely that 1, you are wrong about the buildings being impervious to jetliners or 2, you are wrong about the official story and that 19 pissed off muslims really did do it?

I think 1 or 2 is much more likely. How about you?

How do you rationalize your belief that the WTC towers were impervious to airliners with the fact that airliners were used to ram the towers if the attack was made by someone who would have easy access to that information?

Am I wrong to suspect that parts of the US government is high on your list of suspects?

Another question: Do you believe it to be impossible that 19 muslim men perpetrated the attacks on 911?

how does eventually knowing what did happen have to do with what you currently believe now? Its you current beliefs that lead you to question what happened and its your current beliefs he is asking you about. Its a simple straight forward question. Answer it.
