TAM10 date & place?

No, but it wasn't last year, either.

If I had to guess, right now DJ & Co. are deciding whether to stick with the South Point or to try and find a location that can deal with the increasing number of TAMmers.

Assuming it is in Vegas, I'm fairly certain it will be at the Southpoint.

Probably. The SP has been good to us; it's fairly cheap, clean, and accommodates us well. But we're maxing out the available space there, and I can't imagine DJ likes the idea of having to turn people away.

Nice. It would be very good for me if TAM10 is planned for sometime in the last 3 weeks of July. It would fit perfectly in the school winter vacation here (as it was the case of TAM9), so I could bring my 16-year-old nephew with me. Curiously, he has expressed interest in the skeptical movement I'm involved with.

There's an exhibition hall (not the horse arena) that can fit 2000+.

The details are hazy (I drank a lot of beer at TAM), but I seem to recall something about the SP has plans to carpet that hall.
I was there when DJ told us that at the Del Mar. It was pre-midnight, so your BAC wasn't too high yet. Someone had bought me a beer though, so I could be misremembering. Suddenly blanking on who bought me that Negra Modelo...

:)

I seem to remember someone saying it actually holds 4000 people, but if you serve lunch, you have to cut it in half, so the crowd has somewhere to sit and eat.

At some point (and this has been discussed in the last 2-3 years), if the crowd gets too big, you might have to go to tracks, and just have everyone together in the same room for the keynotes.

The ceiling of the rooms were were in were pretty tall. Why not stack the seats two levels high?

I'm sure some clever fellow can engineer a solution for that.

TAM Experience VIPs could sit on the top level.

Makes sense.

I would want a table in front of me, if I am going to pay extra for seats in the main room. Engineering tables for the top row could make it more difficult to pull off. Not impossible, of course. Just more difficult. Might require some of the stranger looking LEGO pieces.

Well, I think TAM10 should be in Minnesota. Nothing beats it! And bonus, no traveling for me!

yeah it's hard, because we seem to be just at the point of "too big for a regular room but not big enough for a stadium". I think that since in the back you can't really SEE anything a couple of nice rooms would be good. Heck primo seating in the main room at one price and in the other rooms at another? I pretty much watched everything on the big screens anyway.

How about we just book taller speakers?

Also, no more video. Holograms.
