My thoughts as well. Often times artist have little input in wardrobe, video production, song writing, ect. But of course conspiracy theorist would see this as the artist being blind to the Illuminati "puppeteer".

Exactly. Conspiracy theorists (and it really hurts to call them 'theorists') have a very childish understanding of how the world works. Actually, I should rephrase it, they have a childish imagination of how the world works.

This can be applied for the subliminal advertising CTs also. Let's say a big (yeees 'big' as in big pharma ) car manufacturer wants an ad for their newest car. Even if the most elitist, greediest CEO wants a subliminal ad to make the car look sexy (or whatever else the nuts get paranoid about), the company still has to hire someone to produce the ad. That's a lot of people.
I don't think I need to elaborate here, you get my point.

You see, this "hiding in plain sight", as CTers call what the Illuminati supposedly do, just doesn't work that great in reality.
No matter what subject you enter, someone will have studied it, someone will know all about it. Symbolism for instance. If there really were masonic symbols everwhere, why don't the people that have studied them go crazy?
Or in politics, why don't the people that analyze politics all scream "conspiracy!".

They think they are awake, and since everyone else doesn't go nuts about it they must be sheeple! One reason for this is the internet. Now that information is free, they can get all sorts of information that they don't understand. Then they go to a CT forum and all together mix up their bunkum to produce the grand conspiracy.
Then of course, a lot is just plain ol' populism.

I remember back when Tila Tequila tried using the Hollywood Illuminati/devil worship conspiracies to promote her celebrity gossip site. Mostly the same stuff you find in those crappy youtube videos made by CTers.

The funny part is that the guy who runs Vigilant Citizen apparently contacted her and demanded she give him credit for copying "his work" (I guess getting the truth out isn't enough for him). Later after exchanging a few emails with them, he commented on his forums that he believed Tila and her people were only doing it for attention (duh). The possibility that other celebrities might also be using certain imagery and symbols (the stuff his entire website is based around) to garner attention never occurred to him.

Watch a video with the likes of a Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and you'll likely find CTist screaming illuminati any time a triangular shape appears, an eye is covered or numerous poses CTist want to describe as demonic/illuminati related. This thread is a pretty good representation of what you'll find. Also thanks for the mention of the Owl of Minerva. I wasn't sure if there were ANY symbols associated with the Illuminati or not.

It was actually released on dvd, not just youtube, and it is just terrible.

First off the narrator, is well, baked, at one point you can actually catch a hastily edited out him puffing a joint ( maybe it was a bong pipe, or hooka. I am a skeptic after all, but i prefer to think of it as a joint.) and almost coughing.

Everything is illumanati symbolism to this guy, and one of the funniest parts is that he takes the tendency of rappers to do interviews....baked ( not saying some rockers don't do this too, but his video wasn't about rockers. To the best of my knowledge David Brockie, one of my favorite musicians has yet to do an interview sober, even when he quit hard drugs he is usually obviously drunk.) , and use it as evidence they are scared of being attacked by the illumanati.

Maybe that explains it, these people just think anyone they see baked is scared of the illumanati. When you consider how many people smoke pot, it all starts to make sense.

It's incredibly easy to bias yourself on the internet. If you search for anything that tends to fall into the conspiracy realm (freemasonry, Bavarian Illuminati, 9/11, Bohemian Grove, ect.) you're inundated with conspiracy links. When i'm searching for information on these subjects I avoid the conspiracy links like the plague (even though they seem to be the vast majority of site hits on the subjects) but many people will accept the info on the conspiracy sites as fact without a second look. That's when skepticism and critical thinking comes in handy.

Going to the likes of Alex Jones (prison planet, infowars, ect.) for information on CT's is like going to a nazi to learn about the holocaust. But people do it on a regular basis without question. Pretty ridiculous. That's why i'm a big believer in doing your own research and not having a site do all the work for you.

Exactly, it's the universal CT. The Illuminati are the CTer's wet dream. Even if something doesn't fit, they can still call "false flag" or "disinfo". Same with HAARP. It's good for everything, earthquakes, tornados, weather warfare, shooting planes out of the sky, even mind control.

Yes they did. But not even close to the way modern conspiracy fear mongers want us to think, and not in the way Mr. Dan Brown does . They basically were a group of free thinkers in Germany in the late 1700s. AFAIK, they did have some "outposts" outside of Germany, however those were even smaller groups, and even if those tried to continue on after all secret societies were made illegal in Germany, they would have died out soon after. The Illuminati had about 2000 members, if I recall correctly.

I imagine it's the result of Mason Conspiracy theories and Illuminati Conspiracy theories being often linked together under the same conspiracy umbrella and often being used interchangeably. For example historically devil worship (thanks to the Taxil Hoax) was a part of mason CT lore but you'll often see theorist implicate so-called "Illuminati conspirators" as devil worshipers, even though devil worship wasn't a common theme in early Illuminati CT's.

I would bet associating the All Seeing Eye/Eye of Providence with the Illuminati is a fairly recent phenomenon after NWO conspiracy theories rose in popularity in addition to the fact the Eye of Providence on the dollar bill was seen as proof of Mason influence. I really wouldn't be surprised if "The Illuminatus! Trilogy" books were the first to do it (at least as one of the first prominent examples). I couldn't say for sure though.

In 1964, a book entitled The Cult Of The All-Seeing Eye was published and while the author describes a secret society going back to Babylon, the Bavarian Illuminati aren't mentioned once. On the other hand, Robert Hofstadter's classic essay The Paranoid Style in American Politics, also published in 1964, details a lot about the Bavarian Illuminati, but doesn't mention the All-Seeing Eye/Great Seal.

It's true that the Bavarian Illuminati were modeled off of the Masons, and Adam Weishaupt was a Mason, so I see where the parallels between the Illuminati and Freemasons come from. Calling them one in the same, however, is absurd.

What's really frustrating to me, however, is not only is the All-Seeing Eye viewed as an Illuminati symbol, but they've stretched it so that any depiction of an eye or pyramid is seen as Illuminati. According to some conspiracy theorists, CBS is in the Illuminati because its logo is an eye. The album cover of Dark Side of the Moon has a triangle, so that makes it Illuminati. Time Warner Cable is super-duper Illuminati, because its logo kinda sorta looks like the Eye of Horus. What connection the Illuminati has to the Eye of Horus is completely beyond me, but hey, may as well throw it in there too.

The use of an eye as the symbol for a TV station / motion picture / visual media company is hardly surprising. You watch it. Only for paranoid people does this not make sense. And besides, it's a simple, yet cool symbol. And it fits the topic.

That CTers neither get the concept of satire, or understand what fiction means is no news. The whole '23-enigma' comes from the "Illuminatus!" trilogy.
