Post-TAM Tour?

Where does Phlebas come from?

Huntsville, Alabama, originally. But been in Atlanta since the mid90s.

:)

The name came from a book by Iain M. Banks I was reading back when it came time to pick a new nickname. Banks got it from a T.S. Eliot poem called "The Waste Land."

So, I think most people had a great time, most of the time, at Red Rock Canyon, on Monday! I call that a qualified success!

And, let's all thank, once again, our substitute geologist, Shawn! (he's doesn't post much on the forum, and I forget what his user name was) Yaaay!! He either knows his stuff, or he's a brilliant B.S. artist. Either way, I think we all learned some valuable lessons, that morning.

Pics will come soon, and maybe video after that... who knows...

Don't forget to post all 30 of the gripping "Kitten briefing Shawn on the rock formations" pictures you took!

I think a better version was taken with another camera. Will have to acquire that one, soon.

Don't forget to post all 30 of the gripping "Kitten briefing Shawn on the rock formations" pictures you took!

Here is one of them. 29 more to go!

You look annoyed that you were left out of the conversation, Phlebas.

I'm waiting for the flash-blindness from the previous 29 pictures to go away.

I think Kitten is reenacting her driver's license photo, too...

Thanks for posting this (and for organizing the expedition and being one of the drivers). Do you have a higher-res version?

I'll post full-size full-resolution pics on flickr soon. Between me not being at 100%, and my computer hating running photo programs, photo finishing is a challenge these days.

Here's the group pics, though:

Yes--I remember you saying you couldn't see a thing. :D

Good job! I think some kind of psychic phenomenon may be at play...
