In what can only be described as making lemonade from his own lemon tree...

"Savage," Santorum writes, "is the reason my children cannot Google their father's name." Presumably, Santorum's children can Google their father's name, but if they do, they will likely learn about "<SNIP>," as well as finding news and information about their father.

Yes, he may have the right to belittle and degrade us, but that doesn't mean we have to sit by and not fight back. That is why I need your support today, and your contribution of $25, $50, $100 or $250 to my campaign will help us do just that!

With your help we will make this country great again. You can help right now by making a small or large contribution to my campaign. Don't let Dan Savage and the extreme left win.

Thank you for your support.

Fighting For America,

Rick Santorum

P.S. Fighting for America takes all of us – please join the fight today!

I would think, at this point, someone in his campaign should just tell him the truth, he's a douche. I mean, he's no "douche of the universe", but if this is the best you can come up with, your grifter days are numbered.

If all he's worried about is what Google brings up, he doesn't need money to combat that. He needs to ask people to click on the "non-frothy" links so that Google will bring it up preferably. He is reaping the rewards of his extreme hatred and bigotry, and if he hasn't got enough supporters to combat it, then I do not feel the least bit sorry for him.

If I recall correctly, all Santorum has to do is apologize for the statements that started the whole thing and Savage would take the website down. That seems like it would be a more efficient way to protect his children.

Excerpt from the Santorum interview.

Dan Savage's response
After telling a reporter that he likes homosexuals just fine -- provided we refrain from engaging in homosexual acts -- Mr. Santorum came out in support of laws against sodomy. A right to privacy, he said, ''doesn't exist in my opinion in the United States Constitution'' -- for gays, straights, anybody. He then compared homosexuality to bigamy, polygamy, incest and adultery. Too much freedom -- allowing gays and lesbians to live openly and without fear of arrest, for example -- is ''antithetical to strong, healthy families,'' he said. Homosexuality may not be as bad as ''man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be,'' he said

And the Wiki page about the entire controversy.

I gave a quick look and I couldn't find it, but, any reason why the "frothy mix" was affixed the name of "santorum"

From the wiki:
A reader of his column, "Savage Love", suggested he organize a contest to determine a definition for "santorum". Savage had previously sought to coin several sexual neologisms, including "pegging". He wrote: "There's no better way to memorialize the Santorum scandal than by attaching his name to a sex act that would make his big, white teeth fall out of his big, empty head."

He said on May 29 that he had received 3,000 suggestions, and posted several for readers to choose from, announcing the winner on June 12 as "that frothy mixture[*]".

Did we just effect what will come up if hiskids Google him again?

This is a good thing.

Santorum is a whiny bitch. He can dish it out, but he can't take it.

Cry me a river

It's probably not a bad way to run a fundraiser: he has an enemy that he can rally his supporters around and a cause that he needs money to fight for. I wonder if it'd be more successful than "I need money because stuff is expensive".

Why do Santorum's children need to Google him to find out information on him? Is he speaking of illegitimate children who might be trying to find him or something? Ohh, I see. His children don't believe the stuff he's telling them, and they have to fact check him!

He has 7 children between the ages of 20 and 3. I guess there could be a few who might want to google search their father to see how his political career is going. But I think it's safe to say he's just going "won't somebody please think of the children" and it hasn't really been an issue - unless, maybe, some of his older children have been teased about it.

And, in what seems to be becoming a typical situation for these guys, the greatest "enemy" he can name is....a guy who writes a sex advice column.

And this wanker thinks he should be in a position of leadership in the most powerful country in the world? As if.

Shades of Fox talking on the Daily Show.
