TAM 9 Poker tournament

Hi, I'm new to JREF and to TAM (this is my first post and my first TAM) but I'd love to join y'all for some Poker on Thursday!

The Dolly and I would be up for this as well on Thursday. Neither of us have played much poker at all, so I expect we'll be out early, but blind luck may get us somewhere!

The fact is, this tournament is going to be mostly casual poker players, not sharks. as such, luck will be a big factor, and it will be anybody's game. However, it being poker, you will be expected to bring the trash-talk.

WooT! 19 people already! That's way better than last year's pre-TAM sign-ups. This should be good!



At some point, I'll be PMing everyone with my contact details, so you can confirm your participation with me once you're in Vegas, and get any last minute detail changes, if there are any. I've got a US-based cell phone number now, so it won't even cost me an arm and a leg!

Back at TAM 4 & 5 when I was the host of this event, I suggested that players post 'bounties' on their heads as a way to spice up the event. Basically, you were invited to bring a small prize that you would give to the person who knocked you out of the tournament. Completely optional, of course.

After speaking to Horatius, he thinks it would be fun to reintroduce this OPTIONAL event.

So - I'm pleased to announce that in the unlikely event that you knock either Mark or me out of the tournament, you will win a lovely bottle of Chilean wine. Which we will then encourage you to drink, and then attempt to convince you to play heads-up for all your money.

And since mr. ottle just razzed me about drinking out of the mug he won from me a few years ago, I'm encouraging him - and everyone else! - to join in.

Of course, Hokulele and I still have our Beer Bet Counter-Bounties on each other's head - knock one of us out, you get some beer, and so does the one of us still in the game!

I'll certainly have some posters available. IIRC, I'm actually scheduled to help you run the table just after lunch on Thursday, so I'll be sure to be there at least then, if anyone is looking to sign up on the day. Pass the word around to any non-forumites you know who might want to play.

Nope, the hint is already there. NWO kitty has multiple laser pointers. You will turn them against him.

I'm new to the forums and a first time TAMmer coming from Aus...poker sounds like fun.
 
In case anyone was hoping to find me to sign up today, I've encountered flight delays, but I will be at the South Point no later than this evening.
