It was never in question but to blindly loyal partisans that hate conservatives first and foremost more than anything running defense for their side. Go team!

That many of you believed Breitbart hacked his account to tweet Weiner's boner pictures,

that that was more likely,

rather than that the incredibly arrogant, condescending, abrasive, rude, insulting, obnoxious prick idiot sent pics of his dick to some dumb chick(s)

is absurd.

But you did.

Because that is what you always do. ... ("You" being any of you, and you know if it applies to you because you're pissed about it already...)

So that's a yes ?

Just to be precise , I don't have to be supporter of wiener to NOT be an anti-wiener activist, do I ?

I already posted my political leanings in reply to you. I don't live in his district or state, but I have enjoyed many of his speeches/rants on the floor.

Just because I tried to be objective and came to the conclusion that wiener sent the tweet himself does not make me an anti-wiener activist.

Clarification noted!

I apologize for my mischaracterization of your views! :o

No it doesn't. How would you like it if all right-wingers were judged based on the things Sarah Palin says?
Please do so judge! I'd much rather be associated with Sarah Palin's pronouncements than Weiners, Pelosi's, Reid's, Obama's, Clinton's, Frank's, etc. ad nauseum.

The latest one in which she's incontrovertibly correct, is stating that Paul Revere warned the British. 100% correct.
Did Paul Revere Warn The British?

Sarah Palin said he did. So does the Los-Angelas Times.

Their headline:

You know how Sarah Palin said Paul Revere warned the British? Well, he did. Now, who looks stupid?

And an excerpt:

"That the Republican non-candidate, in fact, knew more about the actual facts of Revere's midnight ride than all those idiots unknowingly revealing their own ignorance by laughing at her faux faux pas? How secretly embarrassing this must be, to be forced to face that you're dumber than the reputed dummy."

Complete story here.And this:

"Boston University history professor Brendan McConville said, 'Basically when Paul Revere was stopped by the British, he did say to them, ‘Look, there is a mobilization going on that you’ll be confronting,’ and the British are aware as they’re marching down the countryside, they hear church bells ringing — she was right about that — and warning shots being fired. That’s accurate." ~ From the Boston Herald

And Cornell law professor William Jacobson writes:

". . . Revere did in fact tell the British that the colonial militias, who had been alerted, were waiting for them . . . Palin's short statement on the video was less than clear; that sometimes happens but the part of the statement which has people screaming -- that Revere warned the British that the colonial militias were waiting -- appears to be true."

Really?

I don't get you Americans' obsession with politicians' private lives.

As if a politician who likes to send pictures of his weiner around is somehow a worse politician.

The fact that he lied about it and accused others of hacking is what makes him an untrustworthy politician. The fact that he would so quickly try to cover it up doesn't give you doubts about his integrity.

Should have read those links better. Palin said, and I quote, "He who warned, uh, the…the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms, uh, by ringin’ those bells and um by makin’ sure that as he’s ridin’ his horse through town to send those warnin’ shots and bells that uh we were gonna be secure and we were gonna be free…and we were gonna be armed."

While it's true that there was bell ringing and shooting, neither of those were done by Revere. And he didn't ride to warn the British - he was riding to warn American militia leaders, and only mentioned that he'd done so to the British after being captured. Otherwise he wouldn't have warned the British about anything. Revere also said nothing to the British about taking away arms, or about security or freedom.

So, really, the only part about Palin's statement that was correct was that Paul Revere rode, there were British involved, and that there were bells and guns (though Revere wasn't involved in that part). In short, Palin heard the actual story while on the historical tour, then when asked about it by the press, mangled it almost (but not entirely) completely.

EDIT: Thunder's right, any discussion of this belongs in the other thread.

wrong thread dude.

I can't find the original post, but I thought the story was Breitbart leaked the emails and was tweeting to him ?

I guess the emails were obtained by the smoking gun, but Breitbart says he didn't leak them ?

According to his Twitter feed, @patriotusa76 wasn't even his source in the first place. His saw his retweet and independently corroborated it. That's his story anyway, and I see no particular reason to doubt it.

"In an explicit exchange on March 3 -- the same day he voted on a health care bill in the U.S. House of Representatives -- Weiner bemoaned that he had to end their conversation because he was “off to class.”
The casino worker, who said she once worked as a Democratic campaign worker, also claimed she had steamy phone sex with Rep. Weiner -- using a Government telephone."

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusiv...dentity-reveals-‘he-called-me-congress-phone’

Now this I doubt will really turn out to be a big story:

Rep. Anthony Weiner used an unflattering Jewish sexual stereotype during another Facebook sexting session with a middle-aged woman, RadarOnline.com and Star magazine are exclusively reporting in a joint newsgathering operation.

On the other hand, if you look at the messages, it sure seems like the woman thought they were going to do more than "sext" whenever Weiner made it out to Las Vegas.

One of the frustrating things about politics is that it rarely gives you properly controlled experiments. In the absence of proper controls, we fall back on our biases.

This, however, is a rare exception. Congressman Chris Lee was a Republican congressman that recently resigned when it surfaced that he had sent compromising photos of himself to a woman that wasn't his wife.

So, I think you could do a forum search to substantiate your claim above.

This got buried a few pages back, but I think it's worth looking into, so I dug up the thread.

Lo and behold:
Is it wrong that I'm a liberal and think he shouldn't have resigned?

He also used the same email address that was on his public facebook profile.

Anyway, I think he should have apologized and moved on with his life--this isn't resignation-worthy material, in my opinion.

If I were one of his constituents I would want him out because of the stupidity factor. I would not want somebody that stupid representing me.
Going on Craigslist......that is felony stupid.

Is it wrong that I'm a liberal and think he shouldn't have resigned?
Me too.

Not even a nude pic? These "scandals" are getting pretty lame. Hardly worth resigning over. I just saw on CNN "Rep. Lee resigns in shame". Shame? Really? This is slightly embarrassing and if anything a personal issue between him and his wife. Yeah he was stupid to do it but this is an over-reaction. In congress we have numerous crooks who spend decades there yet some airhead who sent a shirtless pic to some random woman on craigslist trying to get some side nookie resigns?

Seriously, if stupidity were legitimate grounds for disqualifying individuals from serving in congress, we'd have a hard time ever filling the 535 seats!

A Republican cheating on his family with a woman? He should not have resigned. It is early into his term, so resigning could make sense, but doesn't this mean the Democrat governor fills his seat?

I don't get why anyone thinks this is newsworthy, much less resignation-worthy.

I'm with Dudalb: this is just plain resignation worthy stupid for a politician...its also more than a little creepy.

If there aren't any more skeletons in the closet, why did he resign so quickly?

Other congressman have survived worse.

The guys an idiot, but i'm of the opinion that your private life is your private life until you do something illegal. He shouldn't have resigned for this. But he should have had a massive crisis of conscience for even being in the republican party and resigned over that.

So, a couple people thought he should resign, but most self-identified liberals were actually pretty forgiving.

Wait a minute, you're not sticking with the notion that he didn't send the first tweet, are you? Because, assuming he did, the reason he didn't sue or press charges is pretty obviously not because of these other photos.

I suggest you reread what I previously posted on what I believe personally on the issue.

Do you really think this will blow over without substantial political repercussions for Weiner? He might have gotten away with the initial tweet if he had just come clean. But he lied to reporters about what happened. That's not a crime legally. But politically it's suicide.

Over/under on Weiner's tearful resignation: Two days. And I'll take the under.

It depends on why his constituents voted for him, and his personal views. Most Dem don't run on a 'family values' platforms in the first place.

EDIT: Took a while to read through the thread. Pretty much going as predicted, besides some restraint in the 'told you so' by some members which pleases me greatly.

I swear, Hollywood has given people the idea that "hacking" means sitting in front of a login screen, typing really fast, and by the time Halle Berry's done giving you a BJ you have full access to everything under the sun.

Actually, in that scene I seem to recall that it was Halle Berry watching along with John Travolta as someone else provided Hugh Jackman with the felation ... and he typed fast ... and all that ...

See, this is why I couldn't be a politician. My IM sex and text sex sessions are epic, and I too have an unusually large penis. So you know my entire harem of internet 'friends' will keep both logs and pics for decades.

The "But he's open-minded and has nothing to be ashamed of" defense doesn't work!

For those trying to avoid confronting the sliminess of this Weiner jerk's ways by saying, "oh, he's liberal and accepting and therefore not a hypocrite"...

Give it up. Even HE admits he's scum and ashamed of himself....

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/06/06/weiner_i_lied_because_i_was_ashamed.html

And he had good reason to be ashamed. He knows he has been acting like the gutter trash he really is. Just like he's been doing with all his diatribes against Republicans who are telling the truth about the perilous state of the nations debt and finances.

The villain in Iron Man II did this as well, without the benefit of any oral sex.

I'm still crushed from when my dad, who worked with internet security shortly before he retired, told me that corporate computer professionals didn't actually work from darkened offices with wall-sized monitors and giant lighted lucite keyboards like in the movie Hackers.
