He who warned, uh, the…the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms, uh, by ringin’ those bells and um by makin’ sure that as he’s ridin’ his horse through town to send those warnin’ shots and bells that uh we were gonna be secure and we were gonna be free…and we were gonna be armed.

What can one say? Paul Revere warned the British not to take away our guns. Yet another in a series of shoehorning every patriotic trope into whatever populist resentment is clanging around in that empty skull.

She also said the "Statute <sic> of Liberty" could be described as follows:

This Statue of Liberty was gifted to us by foreign leaders, really as a warning to us, it was a warning to us to stay unique and to stay exceptional from other countries. Certainly not to go down the path of other countries that adopted socialist policies,” Palin said to cheers from the crowd.

Get it? The statue given to us in 1860 was France's way of telling us not to adopt the policies that they themselves were in the process of adopting.

By any measure, Palin is a moron.

By any measure, Obama is a great public speaker (whether you like him or not).

I would look forward to a debate. :)

While I find the 'Palinisms' to be quite amusing, however they really do not mean all that much.

After all, Bush, Jr. managed to flub just about everything and anything when he strayed off of the script, but he still managed to get himself appointed once and elected once.

So go figure!

I usually take these news stories with a grain of salt. But it is actual footage with the words actually comming out of her mouth. When will the Republican party rope down this loose cannon is anyone's guess.

They party elites aren't too worried (about Palin), because they know she won't be running anyway. They're content to let her do her little road/freak show, and then retreat under Paul Revere's covering fire. I think it'll be about a month -- July 4th weekend.

Separate from the rather muddled speech, and to play devil's advocate, the British really were marching to "take away our guns." They weren't looking for a fight, though they were ostensibly prepared for one; they were marching to seize the militia arsenal at Concord.

As well, according to the historians, Revere did do a bit of riding but so did numbers of other patriots and there was no bell-ringing or shouting....The message ("The Regulars are coming.") was delivered quietly... So as not to alarm sympathizers.

I can't wait to hear her explain how George Washington chopped down a cherry tree to protest death panels in socialized medicine.

The problem, though, is that her context also says nothing. Word salad.

Perhaps my theory is correct, and she is actually a robot controlled by a number of hamsters manipulating levers and gears inside the hollow head. One of the hamsters might have caught his fur in a cogwheel and temporarily let the tongue utter at random from the speech buffer.

W stumbled over words, but at least you could understand the point he was trying to make.

I've seen several clips of Palin speaking, and I honestly have no idea what she is talking about. See her farewell as governor speeches as an example.

"Mr. Gorbachev, I cannot tell a lie. Tear down this wall."--George Washington

This ties into the other famous quote, uttered by Reagan himself, shortly before singlehandedly defusing the tensions with Russia in the Cuban missile crisis and ending the Great Depression:

"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."

This quote was actually uttered as the first abortion in history was performed. Don't believe the lies of the liberal public school system. Do some research and find it yourself. It's all out there.

Some people say that Palin is a "lightweight."

Actually, she's quite dense.
