Don't think silly voting is endemic to Republicans. (Though it may be Minnesotans have a propensity for it - Al Franken, Jesse Ventura...)

Franken is funny intentionally. Ventura and Bachmann get laughs doing and saying what they mean in deadly earnest.

A good comedian has to make sense.

Crazy is sometimes subjective, but facts are not. Bachmann's relationship with reality is stretched, to put it kindly. While I don't think it goes this far, Bachmann could be objectively crazy.

Again, I'm not saying Bachmann has a psychotic break with reality, but I am arguing against the point that crazy is subjective and that, of the two politicians, Obama is the one furthest from sanity.

That sounds more like wishful thinking than outright insanity. As in: "I'd like this to be true, and my intended audience will eat it up... so let's not bother checking whether it's actually true or not. It's beautiful as is."
 
As far as Michele's chances of being elected = slim and none.

There are WAY too many youtube video's of her doing and saying stupid stuff.

The best is her peeking through the bushes at a gay pride rally.
