Don't blame Alice for the godbotherer stuff. His pappy and his grandpappy was preachers, and when he was vulnerable after quitting the sauce they scared the crap out of him with hellfire. Doesn't quite resolve him for calling Palin a "breath of fresh air" but he's still my hero.
