The Biblical Realities of Hell

If you're speaking about James Randi, then yes he is a magician, and the magical term he thinks in is "illusion." He knows it's not real, but wants to convince people that it is, if only for a moment. Same with the people who wrote the bible, except they never tell you it's all an illusion. They* know it's all nonsense, and get a kick out of people believing it.

*Of course the original writers are long since dead, but the tradition has carried on, with the purveyors of religion almost always perfectly aware (IMO) that they're spewing out garbage, and flabbergasted how much money they can make and how easily they can control people by convincing them that what they say is true.

I agree but there is the flip side of that coin with correct teachings.
The false teachers are in way more trouble than us.
After 6:00 tonight there will be another one.

No, edge, I'd say the chauvinist is the one who automatically and unthinkingly assumes it is Paulhoff's place to "let" or "not let" his wife read an Internet forum, or "tell" her to take part in it.

Just to clarify: that would be you.
Maybe so but I did drop it.

What struck me about that whole bizarre bit of taunting, was that it came from someone who professed to be a Christian and follower of Jesus (I may not have defined that quite right, but hopefully I've summed up the general idea). Now, I realize, that edge has also admitted he sins occasionally, like everyone sometimes fails to live up to what they believe is the right thing to do.

But edge, I'm curious. Do you consider the above taunting episode to be an example of the way a Christian should behave, and therefore something you're proud of? Or is it one of those occasional lapses?

If you're proud of it, well, that's one of the reasons I wouldn't want to follow your God.

If it was a lapse that you regret, how do you make amends for that? Do you just ask forgiveness from Jesus and that's good enough? If so, again, that's one of the reasons I wouldn't want to follow your God.

If it was a lapse that you regret, do you make amends by apologizing to Paulhoff? Since you haven't done so, I'm assuming that making amends directly is not a requirement in your religious beliefs, and that's another reason I wouldn't want to follow your God.

Though honestly, that whole exchange made edge look like a poe more than anything else, and I wonder if that's what he's all about, and if so, the above questions would of course be moot, because by definition his posts would be designed to make Christians look bad.

I said:Show me the light in your eyes and I’ll show you God.

Not in these they are dead inside.
<snipped pics> Great. Three sociopaths have "dead" looking eyes. What does that prove about "god" being the light in the eyes of any ordinary person? I have a lot of light in my eyes, but there's no god behind them. Just contentment, sanity and good ocular and overall health.
A person’s eyes can tell you a whole heck of a lot about themselves especially if they can’t look into your eyes.
But they tell you absolutely nothing about any so-called gods. If people who believed in the "right" god in the "right" way had an extra-special light in their eyes that could be seen by all, then you might have some evidence that your particular brand of belief had some substance behind it. As it is, most normal healthy people with bright eyes don't give off any other distinguishing characteristics like "Jesus eyes" or "Allah eyes" or "Buddha eyes".

Random but funny some do have light at this link might be savable or are innocent.

People often see what they want, or expect to see.

They only way to go to heaven is thru blind faith. It doesn’t matter if you do good and are a good person, all that matters is that you buy into the god, son and the holy ghost that are in the bible and you must do this without question and the less that you know of what is written in that bible the better it is for you to keep your faith.

Now for the funny part of this, the one that they said is the one of love, Jesus, is the one that brings you “HELL” if you don’t have “Faith”.

Hooray for the NT.

Paul

:) :) :)

I like him too; my job is not to fool you.
Sure there are false prophets.
Then there is the real thing, we know and discern what is real and what is magic and what is God.
When God does something it is not illusion.
Only men do that.
Innocent till proven guilty is an illusion and a lie.
You are guilty till proven innocent.
That’s the truth.

How can you tell which is which?

I've known some women with bedroom eyes.

Get over it, Paul and I have been talking crap to each other for ten years, it's kind of fun.

This is what I was referring to when I said that you don't answer the uncomfortable questions. You know that the answer you want doesn't exist.

It's a little humor.
It’s simple really, he announce it himself.
He hasn’t done that yet.
No Rapture yet either, first an increase in disasters, like I said A slow withdrawal of protection.
Remember that movie war of the worlds, the new one…. Those alien machines were depicted like H.G.Wells described in the book, think of the horns.
Like that, then you’ll know.
I’ll probably be dead already.
Any way there will be no mistaking what it is according to the bible…

So you're saying that God hasn't had a hand in any natural disasters for the last 2000 years.

No Rapture yet either, first an increase in disasters, like I said A slow withdrawal of protection.
And your next sentence hints that God is causing an increase in natural disasters.

Remember that movie war of the worlds, the new one…. Those alien machines were depicted like H.G.Wells described in the book, think of the horns.

I don't want to mistake God's hand in a natural disaster. What are the markers I should look for?
