Merged Cold Fusion Claims

Actually character is an issue; when a known fraudster claims to have built a device that violates known, and frequently demonstrated, physics observers should be more than usually skeptical. Such as person has an existing negative credibility.
When that person refuses to allow independent examination and fakes a "journal" to support his concept skepticism should increase.

Unless you've already decided that cold fusion works, that is.

Yeah but so far it seems impossible. There should be something down the middle to give us at least an indication that it works at all.
It's only possible if you believe.

The fact that we're still waiting after 20 years make it an easy statement to make. I used to be enthousiastic about cold fusion before I realised nothing was forthcoming. You seem to favour it for unknown reasons.
Arguably we've been waiting more than eighty years; the first public claims of palladium catalysed hydrogen fusion date from 1929 or earlier. Unfortunately it didn't work then and it doesn't work now.

Here is an interesting paper that was published. lenr-canr.org/acrobat/MizunoTanomalouse.pdf

Italy just granted rossi a patent. It's only falid in Italy but it's a start.

Italy, like many patent office, grant patent for stuff which do not work, as long as it looks innovative on the surface. It is about meaningless as evidence of anything whatsoever. SOme of those econofuel magnet have valid patent (and If i recall correctly even some of the dowser explosive detector). Heck somebody even made a patent for a children toy out of fun to see if the patent office would accept it. It did. The only patent most country require a working example are PMM/FE patent.

Patent are evidence of nothing, except that somebody took the time and money to fill one.

Now I am very curious if there is a mention of a secret catalisator since I don't udnerstand italian I can't check. If there is no mention of the cata content then the patent is about as useful as pissing in a violin (and probably not valid).

I have heard that so many time in the last 20 years, from water car , to dennis klein, to BLP, to steorn, to that russian scam, that I can't even muster a smirk anymore when somebody tells me "you'll see and you wil (regret/not get the scoop/have to admit you were wrong/whatever)".

Especially that the people saying that *mostly* never come back to admit that indeed the scoop wasn't there.

Believe whatever you want. In 6 month I'll be quoting your post to the next guy coming up with a super-duper-energy solution.

Hot fusion has at least published all of the needed research and associated data and has proven theories that provide plausibility. Cold fusion researchers have yet to even publish a speculative theory that passes reasonable peer review.

I would suspect in six months there will be some type of delay/problem/conspiracy that will preclude any cold fusion "break through."

Come back in six months, meanwhile hang around, read some threads, join the discussion.

Funny. I knew about James Randi, but not about the forum. I came here based on one narrow topic; one that I've lost interest in.

I found many more interesting things here, and stayed.

Merged?

In the forum index it says this thread has been merged. So I looked around to see what it was merged with but couldn't find this. Would someone please tell me what has happened here. Thank you.

That happened 10 pages ago, 2 differents threads on cold fusion was made by a person and were simply merged into this one. But that was quite some times ago.

Thanks for the explanation. But on my computer, at least, its just showing the merge as of today - no mention of it on previous days which seems to me to be a little odd.
