Why civilization itself is unsustainable

So we have two fanatical luddites who hate virtually everyone and fantasize openly about the destruction of everyone who doesn't live the way they do whining about being called "cult-like"?

Doesn't it sound rather thin-skinned of you gentlemen to cry about what words are used to describe your ideologies given the suffering and bloodshed you openly admit you want to see inflicted and most if not all of humanity?

It may be, but you have to add all of the new reports and data into it's conclusions, that would be ideal, would it not? There is serious argument over it's conclusions and applicability to the global ecology, it doesn't support your doomsday predictions that's the point. So my complaint that you're using a 7-year old report as the sole basis for your theories is still valid.

I think the term "get a sense of humor" may apply. I certainly don't agree with the sentiment of the sig line, but it's clearly a parody of Shakespeare "What a piece of work is man", whether you find it personally funny or not, well, that seems rather immaterial as everyone has tastes of humor. It certainly doesn't fit any traditional "hate speech" criteria IMO.

But really, this thread has degenerated into incessant **** flinging. I'm sure the mods will step in any minute now....

Sense of humor does not apply. This guy has said repeatedly that he actually thinks people are ****. His sig is not meant as a joke, it's a parody of something, but the meaning is clearly hostile.

Yeah well it's his thread, it's about him and why he thinks this way now, I honestly still don't know why he's like this, I'm honestly trying to get him to answer.

He probably humanizes (ironically enough) animals rather extremely, and is angry at the human race for treating them so badly, or whatever.

Either that, or he just puts too much value on the human abstraction of ecology. Possibly both?

Yes it is a word. There's a moderate, acceptable form of misanthropism? You see because I would have thought that it is all despicable and pathological.

But that doesn't make sense, if we stopped breeding now, there's still 7 billion people who will live from 0-100 years from now, and they are going to have life extention technologies for people who are babies now, who knows how long they will live! Unless you have proof that we couldn't still blow up the planet?

No I think you should go radically deep, if you want to be logical about it. "Human extinction now or there there won't be any later. A painless extermination is needed"
