Merged Obama Birth Certificate Released

So now can we expect requests for all presidential candidate long form birth certificates? I mean I know that we don't need to really worry, they only made it an issue because he's black.

Damn racist Hillary supporters.

Oh...so now the word "certified" matters. I have my old passport. It is no longer valid. When it was issued, it certified that I was a Citizen of the United States. It still says that. However, being expired, the government no longer honors it, nor would any government in the world. So it, too, is "certified" but in this case, as with this Certificate of Live Birth, is meaningless wordplay. The document Obama produced is not his "certified" birth certificate. It may have, at one time, been, but it is not today. Your words don't make it into one. The state issues one "certified" document stating where/when a Hawaiian citizen was born. Obama released that over two years ago. Ther rest is all silly word games.

That was the very same case for another guy who ran for president not too long ago. Who was he again..."

Yeah, him! I wonder what happened to him?

He has retired to the ranch. But Obama now follows his policies almost to the letter.

That's why I believe Obama deserves a second term. He came in wet behind the ears, but he learns fast on the job.

Don't worry. The time is coming when it will be necessary to deviate from some of Bush's policies, particularly his tax policies. But that time is not yet.

Again, Why wasn't his short form good enough for you?
Was it not a legal legitimate form?

One could argue that it's more legal and legitimate than the long form just made public. Hawaii policy normally calls for the former. Obama had to ask for them to make an exception to their normal policy.

Cue massive apologies from Obama defenders who laughably insisted it wasn't possible for him to obtain a certified copy of his long-form birth certificate.

Birthers have nothing to apologize for. Obama should have produced this years ago. Why would he not have done that? What does that say about the man?
Why should he have?

He produced the normal legitimate birth certificate the State of Hawaii provides.

So will you admit that the whole Birther thing is nonsense now?

Now that the birth certificate has been revealed I see Birthers moving into two camps:

1. Follow Trump into questioning of Obama's school records. Oddly, this has nothing to do with any requirements of office like his citizenship would so I am not sure where Trump and his acolytes think they are going here. Since "birthers" no longer seems appropriate for these CTers I will refer to them as "Graders".

2. NBC - Natural born citizenship. Our Constitution is somewhat mute on what a NBC is exactly. There is a Supreme Case (Ark) that does define it better but I think Birthers will really attack Obama's father being a non-American and claim that he is not a natural born citizen (NBC) because of that. I'm not sure what to call this variant of "Birther". I find this one quite interesting as there definition of NBC would disqualify Bobby Jindal who was somewhat of a darling of Republicans and birthers. Another tidbit, Chester Arthur was born 1829 but his immigrant father was not naturalized until 1843 which means that under the birther definition of NBC, Arthus was not a valid president and therefore everything he signed while in office is now null and void (using the language we hear now about Obama).

Also why did it take so long to produce, what were they covering up?
And if Obama is a Natural Born Citizen why is his father listed as a foreigner?
And eth big question, if Obama is really American, why is he black?

I've never had any interest in this issue - his mother is a US citizen who lived here long enough - is he is necessarily a NBUSC by federal law regardless of the location of his birth.

OTOH your straw-manning of others and imputing racial prejudice as motive without evidence isn't rational, reasonable or civil.

In general, American voters are morons; too stupid to wipe their own asses much less make informed political decisions. They don't care about issues, intelligence, or even sanity so long as the candidate tells them what they want to hear, attacks all the right pariah groups, and does it with a smile, charisma, and repertoire of folksy, homespun wisdom.

Nonsense. Individual voters vary a lot in their intelligence, knowledge, etc - so you are making an unjustified broad-brush claim. Most voters are reasonably informed on issues that impact them and reasonably coherent in their views. It isn't the individuals that are the problem - it's democracy itself.

The nature of democracy has a lot in common with mob-rule, The only things that can get passed/voted-in/done are those things that appeal to a majority. The only actions that can occur are those driven by this "greatest-common-denominator" type motivation. So that a majority is in favor of charismatic "hope & change", bridge to the future" babble isn't surprising, nor does it reflect on individual voters preferences. That problem is that the electorate is so fragmented that this pablum is all that a majority can agree on. ALL the politicians are purposely vague, non-committal, demagogic - so there aren't any real decisions to be made. Any politician who takes a clear stand on a controversial issue has lost votes - so it doesn't happen much. One addional US problem is that we are forced to make a democratic decision when none is called-for (4yr intervals for example) and can't make a democratic decision whan one is called-for. The parliamentary 'no confidence' vote and replacement scheme makes a lot more sense to me. Bouncing managers based on the clock instead of performance seems irrational.

I am rather stunned that Trump has gotten so far in early polls. OTOH I remain stunned that someone with no business, economic or executive experience was elected last time.

I think you're right, that this is one of the ways they'll go, but it's just as nonsensical. The Constitution is not silent on who has the authority to interpret the Constitution (Article 3 Section 2). The case law is the law.

I think a third direction they'll go is the one Randman has already stated: the Birthers have nothing to be ashamed of; rather Obama should be ashamed for not catering to their silly demands 2 years ago.

I am rather stunned that Trump has gotten so far in early polls.

How far do you think Trump has gotten in the polls?

He never was a serious contender for the GOP nomination. Polls taken over a year ahead of time that show a candidate like Trump getting numbers similar to other candidates aren't very meaningful. Those numbers also depend on what list of candidates you offer. And finally, most of those same polls (that showed Trump "tied" or "in the lead" with less 30% of Republican voters would choose him out of a list) also showed something like 40% of Republican voters who would rather he didn't run.

I think many people have grossly over-hyped what you can conclude from these polls. I saw one example happen in this very forum. Someone citing a poll whose report had the headline "The GOP frontrunner is. . . .Donald Trump?" as "Trump takes the lead!".

ETA: About all you can legitimately conclude from these polls is that there is no GOP frontrunner. Even a simple majority of Republican voters have not yet agreed on a preference for any one candidate.

It's not a strawman, but a statement of fact.
Why else was this even an issue in the first place?
the release of the short form certificate should have been good enough for EVERYONE, but it wasn't.

The reason for this is simple, Obama has a funny name and looks different. That's it.

Ask nearly any person born in this country who comes from a non-white family (especially Indian and Asian decent), all of them are likely to have had something similar to the following conversation:
Person:"So, Where you from"?
Brown American: "Indianapolis".
Person: "No, I mean where were you born?"
Brown American: "Indianapolis"
Person: " huh? oh. I mean..."

http://www.infowars.com/obama-birth-certificate-raises-as-many-questions-as-it-answers/

“Some of the cases challenging Obama have explained that he was a dual citizen through his father at his birth, and they contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born citizens,” reports WND, meaning that the document released by the White House today could even lead to proving Obama’s ineligibility.
omglol yes get right on that boys, half-American ain't American enough for me! :p

They know what they are doing with their political capital better than me but I am surprised they pandered to the conspiracy theorists. Dump is impressed with himself for forcing them to release it. It sets a poor precedent, the irrationalists will think they have a right to force the rationalists to do irrational things because of their paranoia etc.

Cue massive apologies from Obama defenders who laughably insisted it wasn't possible for him to obtain a certified copy of his long-form birth certificate.

It says that he is not a fascist thug like some of the GOPer governors in the Midwest who will abuse his authority to tell a state agency to do it his way or else.

Birthers have nothing to apologize for. Obama should have produced this years ago. Why would he not have done that? What does that say about the man?

The birfers owe him an apology for making him have to go lean on the state of Hawaii. And the nattering idiots owe an apology to the registrar in Hawaii for wasting his or her time, and an apology to all the grown-ups in the country who have had to put up with the chattering of a bunch of brai-damaged drongos for the last three years.

When will you sheeple wake up? It's clear he's an anchor baby for terrorists from Europa who have interests in Africa and Hawaii because HAARP makes them sneeze uncontrollably while within 40K AU of Earth.

GWB knows this too, but he covered it up using 1/20/08 as an inside job for the terrorists to subtly influence American policy to stop space exploration so they'll NEVER BE FOUND.

Sheeple.

Amazing how long it took to photshop a long form certificate :D

There was really no point in releasing this document. The Birthers have already set up half a dozen fallback positions.

Obama was born with dual nationality and is therefore inelligible to be president. His parents renounced his US citizenship to get him into school in Indonesia. He was able to travel into Pakistan during an American travel ban so he must have been using a foreign passport, was therefore a foreign citizen and is no longer a natural born US citizen. And so on and so forth...

The Birthers have simply decided that Obama is ineligible to be president and are looking for the proof. Evidence that he is eligible can be safely ignored.

*In case you are wondering, there is no US law saying a natural born US citizen cannot be dual national, parents cannot renounce a US minor's citizenship, and there was no US travel ban for Pakistan at the time in question.

Again, Why wasn't his short form good enough for you?
Was it not a legal legitimate form?
Because there was some question as to whether they simply registered his birth or he was born there. He should have released it a long time ago and the fact he has now shows that.
