I can't help but notice the picture of the politican with people holding signs with "6" on them...is it possible that a TV station was interviewing the guy as in "This is channel six news!" or a proposition numbered 6? Also, the first picture of Orion only has one "six", not three. Also, it appears that Cerin has more than three "sixes".

Finally, "Visa":

VISA Card is also interesting, to say the least. If you analyze the letters in VISA, you see three previous world empires represented. ‘VI’ is the number 6 in the Roman numerals, ‘S’ is the Stigma in the Greek culture whose value is 6, and lastly the ‘A’ in the Babylonian culture is 6 ... i.e, VISA = 666!” - Masonic – Occult Numerology by “Duke”

Uhhh...what about MasterCard? Discover? American Express?

I am not well versed in this stuff so I'll let the rest of you disect this website.

I've got a better one: in Season 4 of Mad Men, the view from Don Draper's office shows a building with "666" on it... Woooooooooooooooooo.....

Fantastic, a Numerology 666 thread. We haven't had one for at least a week.

and lastly the ‘A’ in the Babylonian culture is 6.
News to me, as the Babylonian culture used Cuneiform for all their writing so wouldn't have known what an "A" was if it kicked them in the ass
:D

Yeah, well, did the Greeks know they had a letter called Stigma?

‘S’ is the Stigma in the Greek culture whose value is 6

Given that 666 is a mistranslation and that the real number is 616, not to mention that all kinds of number combinations show up all the time, why does it matter?

ETA: try to assign arbitrary meaning to some other number, like 100 or 5 or 62. All of a sudden you'll see this number, too, everywhere. It's called confirmation biasWP.

According to Wikipedia (yes, I know!) there was a Greek letter Stigma and it did have a value of six, but it did not represent the letter S, it represented the sound "st." So the website fails.

Interesting. When I saw "'S' was the Stigma...," I assumed the author had made a mistake (which, indeed he or she had), so I didn't really look into it further.

Amazing! So that explains why all those Catholic saints (abbreviated "St", no less!) sought the stigmata for themselves!

WOOooooooo!

Wait, is that true?

In May 2005, it was reported that scholars at Oxford University using advanced imaging techniques had been able to read previously illegible portions of a manuscript which stated 616 instead of the majority of texts which state 666.[11] The existence of manuscripts attesting to 616 had also been noted before this finding. Another early witness Codex Ephraemi Rescriptus (C) (a palimpsest) has it written in full: ἑξακόσιοι δέκα ἕξ, hexakosiai deka hex (lit. "six hundred and sixteen").[12] This, along with the translation of P115, has led some scholars to conclude that 616 is the original number of the beast.[13]
The NRSV translation for Rev 13:18 includes this translation note: "Other ancient authorities read six hundred and sixteen".

And this is the biggest reason why people fall for conspiracy theories. You get these self styled "researchers" fitting facts together from all different areas of study that they know nothing about. Most conspiracies, when put under the microscope fall apart extremely easily. Like with most things, the devil's in the details.

Oh, let me play.

6+6+6+18. In the 18th post in this thread, the devil is mentioned but not condemned.
