The Nakba was Arabs fleeing the war they started. It's not morally equivalent to the Holocaust.

Eh. Right here and now, one side is civilized and can govern itself, the other can't. What are you going to do?

oh, and I forgot to mention that Israel still refuses to officially acknowledge the Armenian Genocide, and refuses to acknowledge the right of a Palestinian state in even the majority of the West Bank.

and Israel has medals, army units, and museums honoring terrorists and war criminals.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fiji "refuses to officially acknowledge the Armenian Genocide."

Hamas spreads Nazi CT, the Israelis don't teach their kids about the Nakba and have criminalized memorializing the Nakba in public by organizations.

Its all the same evil.

Not the same by a long, loooooong stretch.

Next up:

Oh sure, Hamas have had suicide bombers, but Goldstein was a terrorist!

Oh sure, Sami Quntar bashed in the brains of a little child, but Goldstein was a terrorist!

Oh sure, there were those shootings in a school by a Palestinian gunman, but Goldstein was a terrorist!

Oh sure, Islamic Jihad also carry out terrorist atrocities on buses and in cafes, but Goldstein was a terrorist!

etc...etc... ad tedium,

I guess angrysoba somehow never learned about the Stern Gang and the Irgun.

I guess angrysoba somehow never learned about the many massacres of Arab civilians that took place before and during the 1948 War.

I guess angrysoba somehow never learned about the acts of brutality against Arabs by the IDF after Israel gained independence.

I guess somehow angrysoba never learned about the ethnic cleansing of Arabs that took place during and after the 1948 War.

..shocking huh?

Thunder, yes I know about the Stern Gang and the Irgun. They certainly perpetrated some terrorist attacks and I know about Deir Yassin etc...

My point is that people like you like to make phoney equivalences that come down to a tu quoque argument essentially trying to absolve people like Hamas etc...

As in...

Israel calls Hamas a terrorist organization but what about the Stern Gang?

Israel calls Islamic Jihad a terrorist organization but what about the Irgun?

So, indeed you did come up with the type of argument I expected you to.

but unlike you, I am willing to acknowledge that both sides have had their terrorists.

The Stern Gang and Irgun were terrorist groups, and many of their former members are obviously still alive and walking free. Israel has an Irgun Museum and a yearly event to honor the terrorist attack upon the King David Hotel. Netanyahu himself attended this event as PM.

Israel also has a military unit named after the Lehi.

So perhaps Hamas and Fatah learned how to honor their terrorists, from Israel.

Let us see what this evil, EVIL "Nakba law" says:

1). It is perfectly legal to anybody, organizations or individuals, to "memorize the Nakba" in private.

2). It is perfectly legal to any private individual to "memorize the Nakba" in public.

3). It is, contrary to what Thunder says, perfectly legal for any organization to declare that the creation of Israel was a "Nakba" (a disaster).

The only thing that the new law says is that such an organization, which publicly declares it considers Israel's founding to be a disaster, will no longer get money from the state.

Ain't they just stinkers, these evil Israelies?

Must be one of those "holding Israel to a double higher standard" thingy.

(Of course the obvious question is why would anybody who considers Israel's founding a disaster want to be funded by it.)

It's a matter of degree. Israel, in 60 years, committed about as many random terror attacks on civilians as the Palestinians committed per week at the height of the Intifada.

A little country called the United States of America also has not officially acknowledged the Armenian genocide.

source please.

We can start here:

In 2003, 3,838 terrorist attacks were perpetrated against Israeli targets, in which 213 Israelis (50 members of the security forces and 163 civilians) were murdered. In 2002, 5,301 terrorist attacks were perpetrated against Israeli targets, in which 451 Israeli soldiers and civilians were murdered.... Thus, for example, there was an average of 40 warnings per day.

Averging this out, it turns out that in 2002-2003 there were, on average, about 280 warnings about terrorist attacks and 70 actual attacks per week.

Now, can you name, in the entire history of Israel, 70 terrorist attacks?

We keep hearing of the same few: Deir Yassin, Kfar Kassam, the Irgun (which carried out, in toto, about -- what? -- 10 attacks, tops?), Baruch Goldstein, Ami Popper, and... that's the lot, really. About as many attacks, or perhaps a few more, as were, on average, per day during the height of the second Intifada.

I am not for a moment denying they happened, of course, but I am giving you an idea of proportion.

If you knew anything about the settlers you would have noticed there are "some brain cells" among them long ago.

I think even the baby in Itamar who was stabbed to death used to have a few functioning brain cells.
