Bill Ayers admits he wrote "Dreams From My Father"

Is anyone really surprised that Obama had a ghost writer? None of his writings indicated that much skill, including another book, but he all of the sudden writes a book with a depth of literary skill he never possessed before and just happens to use a lot of the same imagery, language and style as his friend Bill Ayers?

Yeah! It's like telling us the same guy who wrote "Titus Andronicus" also wrote "King Lear".

(Or, What Timhau said.)

LOL! So S22, you're an expert on humor detection. How do you know I'm not being humorous in this thread. That this wasn't one big deliberate joke? Afterall, I've given you lots of facial expressions to analyze. Don't just listen to what I say. ;)
Actually, that does sound a lot like your brand of joke. The "Let's tell a big lie and then defend it like it was really true, just to get the liberals worked up" school of humor slays them every time at Bob Jones University.

You do know he was President of the Harvard Law Review.

What "other book" are you refering to? Dream from My Father IIRC was his first.

A person's writing style also evolves over time and later writings don't always have the same style. A good example is the play (and film) Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? by Edward Albee. You will notice a significant change in the writing style in the first part of the play from the middle (second act) and the last act. It changes from realism to the realm of the absurd. Albee reportedly wrote each act several years apart.

Read the damn article.

Read all the articles Cashill published. If you'd do that, you'd acknowledge that your statement that *Cashill bases his entire argument on what the author of Barack and Michelle: An American Marriage states in his book* is patently false.

I reread my statement and was actually supposed to say that ANDERSON based his entire argument on what CASHILL wrote and CASHILL agreed with him.

My fault for using an android phone to post to this forum.

so my error on that part

Its still a circle jerk of nonsense, since CASHILL doesn't source anything; except himself when referencing the "similarities" in writing and CASHILL has shown that he has no expertise in judging how people write.

He also writes for WND, who's authors have a huge and difficult time of reporting anything remotely close to being true (Abercrombie interview?)

Psst.

AYERS WAS JOKING

1. This lie (if Ayres was not joking.... it looks like he was)
2. Lied in Cairo about the "Golden Age of Islam".
3. Lied about not sending American boots into Libya which Reuiters now says he has done.

By the way, duriing the election, when I told my Liberal friends that everyone thinks Bill Ayers wrote this book they would reply "you don't really believe that, do you?".

Even if Ayres was joking he does not say that Obama did write it and he did not.

I remember something about Ayers at least helping out that was admitted. I will have to find it online. Otherwise it is not true.

Why did you tell them that? It's certainly not true.

Evidence? No, of course not.

So you meant to say that but instead said "Cashill based his entire argument/article on what the AUTHOR of Barack and Michelle: An American Marriage stated in his book." I see. An easy enough mistake to make.

By the way, Anderson did not base his entire argument on what Cashill wrote, either. Andersen wrote in his book that after Obama finally got a new contract to write a book, Michelle Obama suggested that her husband get advice “from his friend and Hyde Park neighbor Bill Ayers.” That did not come from Cashill. Andersen wrote: “These oral histories, along with a partial manuscript and a truckload of notes, were given to Ayers.” That did not come from Cashill. And Andersen wrote: “In the end, Ayers’s contribution to Barack’s Dreams From My Father would be significant — so much so that the book’s language, oddly specific references, literary devices, and themes would bear a jarring similarity to Ayers’s own writing.” That did not come from Cashill either. That was Anderson's own opinion before Cashill had even talked to him or read his book

CASHILL doesn't source anything; except himself when referencing the "similarities" in writing

Why would he need to source anything other than the books themselves? Similarities are similarities. If you want to argue they aren't, then do so, one by one for the list noted in http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=79392 . Don't just wave your hand and dismiss them. And by the way, I'll again point out that source does not come close to describing the complete list of similarities that Cashill found and described in his other articles and book, as noted in my previous posts. Cashill actually found 759 points of congruence. But that WN list is a good place to start. If you dare. :D

By the way, you might want to look at these additional sources since they pertain to an analysis of similiarities done by someone other than Cashill but sourced by Cashill, in direct contradiction to what you claimed above:

As the author concluded:

“Striking” is an understatement for the relationship FictionFixer uncovered between Fugitive Days and Dreams From My Father.

:D

Hmmm

FictionFixer™ applies computational literary stylistics (including corpus linguistics), deep-structure pattern-recognition, predictive modeling, and information theory to enhance a book’s potential position on "the list." The software is unique because the developer's background enables us to apply to creative writing, analytical methodology hitherto reserved for music.

Just like the example above, while the unique ingredients are what makes it stand out, certain core ingredients must be present in a novel for it to be in the running. There is a model, and it too, evolves from year to year. Fortunately, the world continually votes on this matter; they vote with their pocketbooks, and these votes are recorded on bestseller lists. But what are the ingredients? What is the current model? FictionFixer™ answers these questions and more.

FictionFixer™ reveals how close to the mark your novel is in relation to the current model of what people are buying. And, the software tells you exactly what to change to come closer to the ideal. The more you know about what your readership expects, the easier it is to communicate a particular story or message—to get the content across to the reader without them being bogged down by the form in which it is presented. Do you want your story to touch the maximum number of people? If the answer is yes, read on.

This does not seem to be the tool of scientific analysis. Seems to me that using it as such is like bringing in a focus group survey to calibrate your lab balance.
