But Sidley and Austin wasn't a big law firm. And both were involved in the same "causes". They both knew the same people. So that greatly increased the likelihood of them coming in contact with one another during that previous decade. And yes, New York and Chicago are big places, but they didn't live on opposite sides of those cities. They both lived within walking distance of each other for years and years and years. Like I said, their kids went to the same schools and probably shopped at the same stores. Now you can choose to close your eyes. I can't stop you. But there are just too many connections, too many contradicting witnesses, for Ayers to have just been "a guy in the neighborhood" like Obama originally lied.

Except that mail carrier is quite clear in his rememberance. [Anecdote! --Upchurch] He said when Obama ran for President that's when he remembered the encounter and said that Obama told him his name. And the encounter took place right in front of the home of Ayers' parents, long before you leftists say that Ayers could possibly have met Obama. Now you can dismiss that piece of evidence too.

Okay, where is that evidence? The link you provided earlier is broken and a quick google showed nothing but right-wing blogs citing one another.

And there is considerable reason to believe they met one another long before 1995, as I clearly demonstrated.

No, you gave reasons as to why they could have known each other before 1995. You have not demonstrated that they did.


And of course, none of this demonstrates that Ayers was not telling a joke or that he played any part in Obama's book.

I grew up in a town of 30,000 people. During my entire chlildhood up til college, I never saw my neighbors at the mall, grocery story or elsewhere. Now living in a town of 250,000 people, In the past 6 years, I have only seen one of my neighbors once at a park, where we waved to each other.

Well, right away, the author is spinning or outright lying:

Ayers had nothing to do with it:

The bipartisan board of directors, which did not include Ayers, elected Obama chairman, and he served in that capacity from 1995 to 1999, awarding grants for projects and raising matching funds. Ayers headed up a separate arm of the group, working with grant recipients.

Don't have time for any more in-depth look but at a cursory glance, but I do notice that Hulton didn't remember the young man's name, only that it was unusual and the man's ears stuck out. Only later when he saw Obama's campaign poster did he remember the story.

Memory is a funny thing. My wife remembers watching ET as a young, young child with Statler and Waldorf the muppets in the theater. It didn't actually happen that way, but that's how she remembers it.

Ultimately, it is an anecdotal story remembered 20+ years later with no supporting documentation or evidence. If Hulton's story is true, the Ayers' parents were supporting Obama in his college years and there would be some sort of documentation to support that fact. Does that documentation exist? Is there any evidence to back up Hulton's story?

Again, several of the people that have argued against you didn't vote for Obama. So trying to say that "our side" (i.e. the side of rationality) relies on Obama's credibility is completely off base, of course.

Nonsense. Obama's credibility is irrelevant. He can be a liar, a communist, a Muslim, a racist and a bad president who wrote his own memoir. There's no contradiction there at all.

You don't have to trust or like Obama to think that the Ayers-as-secret-ghostwriter theory is ridiculous. That's why even a right-winger like Dan Riehl thinks people like you look like, "a bunch of Kool-Aid inebriated Right Wing nut jobs."
