Is Obama planning to attack Saudi Arabia?

Since the President of US cannot make that decision I'd say it's a bit silly to say he 'wants' too.

The protest in the east are Shi'ite and the Sunnis have little liking for those 'heretics'.

Yeah, ok I admit I did an attempt of attention whoring with the text 'Obama planning'. What I meant is that the U.S. government and other heavy importers of Saudi oil are planning to invade Saudi Arabia, not really that Obama himself is making those plans.

True, so the title of the thread is fairly ok after all. If there is some truth to the idea, then it will take some time before it starts to become apparent. First they will have to deal with Libya probably.
 
They may need to start a conflict in Saudi Arabia so that they can use that as an excuse when the oil price sky rockets!!!

Because the Canadian government would not dare to cut down their oil export to the U.S. :D Saudi Arabia on the other hand may start to keep much oil to themselves and/or start to make big oil deals with China.
 
Why would they keep oil to themselves? Their entire economy is based on them selling it.

Even if Saudi Arabia would not keep the oil to themselves, I think the U.S. government makes a judgment that they MUST invade Saudi Arabia and take control over the oil production to prevent/preempt the risk of having China start making too much oil deals in Saudi Arabia.

Please define "dependent." In 2009, only 10.9% of U.S. crude oil imports came from Saudi Arabia. (In comparison, 21.6% came from Canada and 12.1% came from Mexico.)

Oh! Good point actually. Yet both the Canadian tar sands and the oil in Mexico are safer than the oil in Saudi Arabia. Unless China has started or is planning deals with Mexico! :eek:

But one point is that most people are misinformed! Why? Because those who have the real info want to keep it to themselves. It's like if someone has a good knowledge about a good financial investment. He or she would not spread that real info to the public. The same with oil statistics and other important things in global politics.
