Or Feng shui is not strong enough when the internet is around.

I'm posting here so I'll remember to come back when I get the copy of our Feng Shui Master's report off of my filing cabinet at work. Some of it is hysterically funny - and I'd love to check it for accuracy (it was created when we moved into this floor of offices about four years ago).

Gotta love his angle. "Let me re-arrange your internal organs with my magic feng-shui wand and open the chi channels to greater opportunity in your life". Yeah, she sure fell for that one... :boggled:
 
Old PT Barnum was right! There is one born every minute.
On the other hand, once all the mystical twaddle is removed, feng shui does give some good precepts for building and ergonomics. For instance, building so your door and windows are facing south. Good idea north of the equator, better insolation. Reverse it for south of the equator.

I think he stole the plot from Terry Southern's Candy - the penultimate scenes involve a guru who does the same thing.
 
The one scandal never listed is the one where it was tested and different experts gave different maps of where everything should be, they all contradicted each other. Its the material brother of astrology.
 
I take it you are referring to Penn & Teller's Bulls*@t? That was one of my favorite episodes!

I agree though, that article glosses over the fact that Feng Shui is claimed as a science, without any actual scientific support to back it up. It just pointed out that there were bad people out there taking advantage of the industry. Well, aren't there bad people out there taking advantage of every industry?

not a good idea if you are 2 mile from the equator, surely you'd want cooling. not "insolation", facing the equator just makes it too hot, doesn't it.

On the other hand if you are (much?) further away from the equator, is facing south/north more dependant on prevailing wind chill factors?

Seeing as I reguarly reposition my home (it moves hehe..) to suit seasonal variation, I don't need or want shung fueey tnx.

It don't make any difference, when you move your house about. Who cares where the door is?

I wonder, what would the feng shui map for an RV look like? Don't put your bed near the tires?

A Chinese friend of mine used to tell people who would ask him about feng-shui: "You know, if you ask 5 feng-shui masters to rearrange a room, they'll soon throw the furniture at each others' head ...".

My wife worked for Chinese company.

Apparently you need align the desks at the sales department with the road outside.
And you need a picture of a dragon behind the receptionist and a big clock next to the door.

Their offices looked really weird.
