Continuation Part 2 - Discussion of the Amanda Knox case

Not open for further replies.
It is mentioned at other times in the Google translation I linked prior. There are numbered sections and it is mentioned in section 22 (and other sections).

It is mentioned later (in time) but I don't see any mention of it from the breaking of the door testimony as the room was first observed or in the first descriptions of the room from those that first inspected the room. It seems to get a lot of attention in later reports. Frank has hinted about the lamp situation here:

Mignini believed the cops when they told him that Knox and Sollecito had called 112 after the postal police arrived; that Amanda spontaneously named Patrick and that she had an appointment with him; that there was a strong bleach smell; that Raffaele went to sterilize his shirt; that he was cutting girls back in Puglia, and so many other truths...
So, Mignini knows who he can thank if he becomes the most unpopular judge in the world. Keep on believing them, Giuliano. Don’t investigate them. Don’t ask yourself why the November 6 fax was sent. Don’t ask yourself where the DNA comes from. Don’t ask yourself what was the lamp doing there, stuck under Meredith's door. Keep on believing them, Perugia.

Here was a post I had previously listing the quotes on the lamp from the various reports.

http://www.internationalskeptics.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6794693&postcount=1883

Frank lists quite a bit of testimony from those present when the door was broken down, nothing about the lamp is mentioned.

This next one is interesting because you can see a connection between false information from someone favoring the prosecution like the claim about the washing machine still warm/running (not true), encountered with a mop in hand (not true), and police curious as to Amanda's lamp in the room (my bet is also not true).

Getting back to the blood spatter on the bra...I'm no expert on brassieres but isn't the blood spatter shown in the picture on the INSIDE of the cup? Reading some of the comments gave me the impression that some assumed it was the outside of the cup. I could be wrong but that is how I see the picture. Just sayin...

The bra shown in this picture is twisted with the right cup face down and the left cup face up. This is evident because the wide band goes around the back under the arm and the narrow straps go over the shoulder. The blood saturated strap is on the right.

To help visualize the untangled image, imagine you are wearing the bra. Or better, imagine Mignini is wearing the bra and standing on his tip toes with his left had on his hip and his right hand arched above his head.

The evidence that there was some aspiration of blood while Meredith was on her back with the bra removed comes from the circular drops of blood on her body where it would have been covered by the bra. This image from a Perugia Shock article shows the drops.

At this point, the whens, whys and wherefore of the lamp's movements probably can't be proven either way, unless someone comes forward and says, yes, indeed, I moved the lamp from Amanda's room to Meredith's room on such-and-such a date at such-and-such a time. (If it was Meredith who moved the lamp, we won't be hearing from her, unless she kept a diary no one has discovered yet.)

Still, The Mystery of the Roving Lamp endures as a topic of speculation and interest. I've seen pictures of a study lamp on the floor next to the bed, and pictures of a cord stuck under the door. I guess this is the same lamp.

My bet is that Amanda's study lamp was moved to Meredith's room after the door was broken open, so the police would have more light to examine the crime scene. This scenario makes sense, and it would explain why the lamp isn't mentioned in the early reports.

You may be seeing two different lamps. One lamp was on the floor next to the head of Meredith's bed between the bed and the night stand. The other was on the floor at the foot of Meredith's bed between the bed and the opened door.

Which lamp belonged to Amanda?

Which lamp belonged to Amanda?

Actually, neither lamp belonged to Amanda. The one with the red button that was at the foot of Meredith's bed came with Amanda's room.

It is widely circulated that the lamp was the only source of light in Amanda's room since the deadbeat landlord had failed to repair the primary room light (this is the same landlord whose lease would stick the girls for the lost rent if they didn't come up with a party that could both be held responsible for the crime and had the resources to pay the damages).

Over the last 6 nights, Amanda had spent most if not all nights at Raffaele's place, only coming home in the morning to shower and change to go to school. She would have had no need to use that lamp in her room over that time since there is plenty of natural light entering her room through the Florentine shutters on her window and the doors to the balcony just across the hall.

Hi all,
Just passing this along.
It seems like Mignini's favorite hobo, Antonio Curatolo, -(who testified against Raffaele Sollecito and Amanda Knox in their trial),
has been sentenced to 1 1/2 years for, no, not lying in court, but dealing drugs. Wasn't this heroin?

and

At least he will stay warmer at night...

LOL, It went quite fast! Looks like Mignini has a huge problem now.
Wait, how was it that Mignini use to say about Toto?
One of the key points and most important of the evidence. Credible credibilissimo absolute trustworthiness and reliability of ... ... proof, full circle, full stop.
:D

From the Motivations Report, English Translation, page 337:

"They thus had 12 pairs of shoes belonging to Meredith Kercher, 4 brands [of shoes] from Amanda Knox (the pair of free climbing‛ Boreal-brand were found, the left one in a room, the right one in the suitcase in the hall), and 6 pairs seized from Sollecito’s, making for a total of 22 pairs of shoes."

So, did Amanda explain---or try the explain---why she was hiding one of her shoes???

Oooh yeah, I know: I've just worn these shoes while participating in a murder, and I think that the shoes might be incriminating evidence. Now, I've got most of the night and all the following morning to do something about this. Should I perhaps put the shoes into an innocent-looking small plastic bag, take them far from the place where I live and where the murder was committed, and either throw them in a refuse skip or deep intothe ravine? Or should I perhaps use the time to take the shoes to Sollecito's apartment, where I can immerse them in bleach and scrub them thoroughly to remove any blood traces, while also using part of the time to eliminate any shoe prints of mine that might have been made in Meredith's blood.

Or...... shall I devise perhaps the most cunning and devious plan of all: leave one of the shoes in my room, but put the other one into a suitcase in the hall of the cottage? MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA - evil genius!!

Yes, exactly John. That's why I've asked this question juxtaposed with the question of Amanda's lamp left in Meredith's bedroom. Both can be seen as evidence that Amanda wasn't thinking straight after the murder, due to shock or them mind-altering substances.

And if the cops served a search warrant on you today, would they find one of your shoes in a suitcase outside your bedroom????

I had previously said that I couldn't think of anything that would convince me that the pair were guilty. But I just remembered something that appeared in the video of Raffaele's apartment: On 16 November 2007, shortly after 15:11, another suitcase that apparently was hidden under the bed is opened for the camera. And what is it that has been so thoroughly hidden? A single slipper! Coincident or conspiracy?? I am convinced... With evidence like this, why did they even bother with a trial?!

Here is just a fascinating article about Raffaele's family and how they have stood behind him.

http://translate.google.com/transla...g.panorama.it/italia/tag/amanda-knox-kercher/
Five members of the Sollecito family are committed to court on the 28th March for essentially illegally obtaining scene of crime video of Meredith’s body and handing over it to TV station Telenorba who aired video.

Translated to English, the crime would most closely resemble: interference with the operation of a railroad.

Yes I guess to some, others may think of the impact on Meredith’s family and friends, just as well the authorities acted quickly and blocked any further airing. I believe this case is directly linked to Vanessa Sollecito being fired from the Carabinieri.
