Planned Parenthood Aids Pimp's Underage Sex Ring

No, he's saying he doesn't like my evidence...but that doesn't change the fact that it's evidence.

Hope that clears it up.
No, tyr_13 is correct. Your "evidence" is composed of speculation and assumption without full context. In order for her to have helped them do something illegal, she would have had to show intent. Passing a piece of paper is meaningless. This is why under cover cops (you know, professionals who are trained to do this correctly) set up situations where the suspect actually commits to performing an illegal act.

The only thing the Planned Parenthood employee is guilty of is a bad PR move and you have no evidence that she intended to cover up a crime.

When someone asks you to help them cover up a crime, do you:

A) help them
B) don't help them
C) help them, but call the police
D) don't help them and call the police

I pick D

Yep, who cares about whores anyway? Just make your moral stand and never have to deal with them at all.

I am the one that should be facepalming. You continue to act like we are in favor of underage prostitution when, in fact, we are more concerned that girls in such dire straights get medical treatment until cops can rescue them. And simply telling the pimp to get lost will achieve neither.

Well, this is what it comes down to. If it is a matter of doing the right thing and helping young girls in trouble or risk being seen as soft on crime and following the letter of the law, deeptrax will CYA.

...
There are also those that let their irrational hatred of government cloud everything.
I think it's that people good at propaganda that manipulates the public discourse take advantage of the people who are easily distracted from looking at complex issues. If this is all about promoting prostitution, aiding and abetting breaking laws, then you don't have to think about anything else. You have your answer. Life is simple.

The number of people one can lead to believe in oversimplified political issues was reflected in the outcome of the last election. And the country is going to suffer for it.

@3:25 in the video:

PP employee: "So [the nurse practicioner will ask] 'how old is your partner?' You know, that kind of stuff. So that's where, you know-so-even if they LIE and just say, "Oh, he's the same age as me. Fifteen...fourteen and under we have to report...so as long as they just lie as long as they don't say they're fourteen."

Apparently you're still looking at the doctored clip. I'm using the unedited clip, and at 3:25 in the video they're still speaking with the receptionist.

If it's any help, I'm using the second video on this page.

Think this needs pointed out. There are 2 big things that are common between the Bloomberg/To Catch A Predator investigations that are not common with the PP/ACORN tapes.

1) They were both set up and executed in conjunction with the police
2) If they found something that did not fit their goal, they didn't edit it out to make it look better for them.

Also they were going after actual criminals.

Also they were going after actual criminals.

That too, but I didn't want to open up a tangential line of debate about whether the employee who got fired counts as an actual criminal, leading to 30 posts about nothing.

Here's a nasty little bit of irony:
Title X–supported family planning centers served 4.7 million women in 2008. The contraceptive services provided at these centers helped women and couples avoid 973,000 unintended pregnancies, which would have resulted in 433,000 unplanned births and 406,000 abortions. Without these services, unintended pregnancy and abortion in the United States would be one-third higher. And by helping women avoid unintended pregnancies, Title X–supported family planning centers saved taxpayers $3.4 billion in 2008—or $3.74 for every $1 spent on contraceptive care.

Title X, is of course, what the House just voted to defund.

Obviously this would only be a problem if the people who voted to defund it ran on a platform of budget responsibility and saving the taxpayers money.
To elaborate on this comment for those that didn't get it at first, ;) responsible spending is one thing, but it's quite another thing to use that claim as an excuse to:

Gut programs for the poor while giving tax breaks to the top 1% of wage earners.

Gut programs the morality police object to while claiming something as minor as regulating light bulb efficiency is a affront to freedom of choice.

Gut programs that had any relationship to Democratic Party candidate support while sparing anything related to Repub candidate support.

It's a lie to call these actions the result of a political mandate.

It is hypocritical to claim energy efficiency is an important matter of free choice but women's health care and homosexuals' right to marry is not. Another's energy choices have tremendous implications for all of us personally from the economy to wars we are fighting. Gays' marrying and women getting abortions does not affect the morality police personally. Why is my free choice not to pay the costs of a war over oil less valued than someone else's choice to waste energy and make that war more likely? The shortsighted ignorance of that position is mind boggling.

In case you were confused, I was making a swipe at those who were being fiscally irresponsible while claiming responsibility.

Oh.

I shall make a tiny edit to account for this new information. :)

Let me know if I am still confused. :p

I guess deepatrax decided to stop erecting those strawmen. I guess the livestock will live.

So with this new action by the idiots now in charge of the House we can expect as many as 900,000 more unplanned pregnancies and maybe 400,000 new abortions.

Unlikely. The bill has no chance of passing the Senate, and the President would veto it.

Now if we end up with a government shutdown, or last minute bargaining to prevent it, all bets are off.

IIRC, about 1/3 of PP's funding comes from the Fed.

In looking for the actual figures, (because they refute what Mike Pence claimed when arguing the bill before the Congress that the money is used to free up money for abortions which I'll get to in a second), I found the first couple Google search pages absolutely chock full of fanatical anti-abortion sites with pages of explanations why any money going to PP is supporting baby murder. They exaggerate the amount of funding coming from taxes and seriously exaggerate the amount of money PP uses for abortion services. They exaggerate the amount abortion services PP performs. You never see anywhere on these sites any mention whatsoever that abortions are only about 3% of the services that PP provides. No thought is given to the number of abortions PP is preventing.

I really had no idea the attack on PP was this incredible by these groups. They've made PP the focus of all their hate. By creating these Satanic evil targets the leaders of these groups foment the mob they have following them. Money flows in, everyone feels they have this important cause to fullfil in their lives. It's clear what creating these faux monsters does to keep the leaders of the group feeling powerful and important.

On to the lie that providing any money for PP is automatically funding abortions. Did anyone see Jon Stewart's skit on this claim last night?

See the clip: "Mother F#@kers - Stork Bucks
Kristen Schaal wants to cut funding for any organization that has anything to do with abortions, including firefighters, the FAA and NASA."
If you fund fire fighters you fund abortion clinics because they provide services for the clinics.

If 30% of PP funding originates as tax dollars and 3% of the services at PP are abortion services, then clearly there is no reason any of that 30% would need to be going to support the abortion services. It's ludicrous.
