I'm sorry, Saggs -- I seem to have missed the parts about this person being some sort of spokesman for (or even an advocate of) Zionism, or where in this film (or any of his films) he advocates war as the solution to the problems he points out, as opposed to, say, diplomacy or some sort of economic sanctions regarding those very real problems?

Could you please elaborate on this, and tell us why you hate Jews?

If we were to achieve greater energy indipendence, we would further undercut Iran and destablize their government...which is an Israeli goal...see? The more we depend on Iran or Suadi Arabia or any ME country, the trickier it is for Israel to have overt influence. Get it?

One is going to have to define what is meant by "dependence" and "Middle East" in this context.

In 2009, of the total amount of crude oil imported by the United States, only 18.4% came from the Persian Gulf (defined by the EIA as including the nations of Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates). That same year 21.6% of U.S. crude oil imports came from Canada. In other words, the U.S. imported more from Canada than it did from Persian Gulf nations combined. So one could argue the U.S. is actually dependent on Canadian oil.

Incidentally, the U.S. did not import any crude oil at all from Iran.

By individual nation, the top ten suppliers of crude oil to the U.S. in 2009 were Canada (21.6%), Mexico (12.1%), Saudi Arabia (10.9%), Venezuela (10.6%), Nigeria (8.6%), Iraq (5.0%), Angola (5.0%), Brazil (3.3%), Algeria (3.1%), and Colombia (2.8%). The top ten combined accounted for 82.8% of total U.S. crude oil imports.
