The Scott Peterson case is interesting because he was convicted of murder despite the fact that was no physical evidence against him. There were no witnesses that saw him commit the crime yet almost everyone (except his family) believes in his guilt.
I think it's a failed analogy. Was there a Rudy Guede in Scott Peterson's case? Was there another perpetrator who left heaps of obvious evidence? It changes the picture a lot.
