Merged Skeptics vs. Knowers/Believers

I invited the KotA to join this forum in November of 2001, shortly after I myself had joined... as you can see by my join date... AFTER 9/11/2001.

I knew KotA from the THSMB site where he frequently posted his UFO kookery... back then they were indeed space aliens, and not the ArtistsformerlyknowasSpacePrince. He even once sent me a paperback schlock science book(the title escapes me) which was all about space aliens building the pyramids.

Not only did I invite him him to join us here on this forum, as I recall, it was I who made him his account here as the KotA, and handed it over to him.

Um... so... I guess I sorta apologize?

That's utter garbage.

People ARE capable of making observations AND making accurate reports of those observations.

MOST people DON'T see things that aren't there, but I will concede that some mis-identify things.

'I' saw something that was not human, in form or function.
You claim that you wrote down details of this event, and therefore your claim is not solely based on your long-term memory.

Given that you can't find your written account, why would I believe you? When was the last time you read this written account?

ETA - Stars, fireflies, birds and balloons are still not human.

Okay... it's coming back to me now. Back when I first became aware of "the King", he was planning something called The World Peace Initiative. Which was to be a free concert held in the desert on the evening the New Year's Eve back in 2000.

I remember him outlining plans to have everyone gaze skyward at the stroke of midnight and welcome the alien space visitors. Yep... I specifically remember the whathaveyous came from outer space back then.

Ah... found it...

A.J. Knabe A self proclaimed "modern day Picasso", this 23 yeard old believes that he knows the secrets to life, God, and the search for happiness. The only problem is no one wants to listen to him...

I haven't seen that journal for years...

Neither stars, fireflies, nor birds or balloons 'act' in the manner I've described.

YOU signed me up, here???

Wow, THAT completely escaped my recollection!

So you have my "Fingerprints of the Gods"...? I knew I sent it someone, but had no clue who had it.

I have conceded that 'the number' changed, and the change was small enough to be within the expected margin of error. ALL of you have said mis-remembering is common, so how is what I have provided anything but exactly what you'd expect???

That's the only real difference you've managed to point out...
Your statements are at least inexact. Below are again some of the issues I can find and already pointed:

1.The "cloud" appears at some accounts, not at others. Its shape seems to be actually an interpretation.

2. The color changes IIRC were only recently described.

3. "No less than seven" means at least seven; it means 8, 9, 10 or maybe more. A far cry from 6.

4. Changing size after melding is also not present at many of his accounts.

5. The exact meaning of "star shaped" is unclear, since he claims they were not point lights (as stars are). So, would that actually means objects shaped like a pentagram or David's stars?

6. Many accounts also are not clear about if they were walking or driving a car.

7. Estimated distance and elevation from the lights are also absent.

8. No indication of how long the alleged sighting happened.

9. The lights were travelling at clear sky (the "mothership") was the only cloud around or they were sometimes covered by clouds?

You can either accept what I have offered as evidence of a truth, or you can cling to ignorance under the badge of skepticism.

I'll only warn you that the later course will not deliver unto you timely truth.

Now, what's that? Speaking like a fundamentalist? How can you be sure you actually know the truth? I think only the ignorant and the fanatic have no doubts.

Provide reliable evidence and I will believe your claims and interpretations.

...

Provide reliable evidence and I will believe your claims and interpretations.

Ignore the guy in the diving bell at the peril of truth... The existence of glowing fish is and has always been real, even if there was no 'reliable evidence' to back up the first hand account.

You are not required to believe me, the hundreds of thousands of others who have seen what I have, history itself, or even your own eyes were you to see what I have.

You may languish in ignorance for the rest of your life. It is your choice.

Wow, THAT completely escaped my recollection!

In the context of the rest of this thread, this is highly amusing:D

... but not surprising. Also amusing is the flailing for some credibility when it's been shot, completely and repeatedly. From the OP...

I 'd like this thread to consist of "who's winning" the debate...

The skeptics/debunkers or those who believe/know they saw 'something' that wasn't a man-made and a human piloted craft.

?

Tell me, what color shoes did you wear in the 7th grade?

You don't remember???

That must mean you never wore shoes in the 7th grade...
KotA, you seem like a really nice guy. Do you understand that the evidence for the existence of shoes is a little stronger than the evidence of intraterrestrial-piloted flying saucers? Your analogies fall flat.

ETA - Thanks to Psiload for posting that geocities link. Interesting that the sighting isn't mentioned there, but I was glad to see the idea of everyone looking up to attract the god-aliens.

Yep... that was me. I can even recall the password I used on the account when I handed it over to you... bizarro. Does that ring any bells?

It wasn't Fingerprints of the Gods. It was an even larger hunk of pseudoscientific junk that actually referenced several Graham Hancock books as source material.

I recall the author being a former fire-and-brimstone evangelical Christian who gave up on the scriptures and threw himself in the UFO/paranormal realm with the same religious zeal he had once devoted to his Holy Bible.

Oh... and the book you sent me... I sent it back to you.

Wait... I know the book you are talking about now. It was small, all black, with white font and a lightening bolt on the cover of it? I think the author sent it to me for free. I can't find it either...

I DO recall you being the guilty party for inviting me here.

So, Mr. Ironclad Memory:

What was my first post? ANY recollections there?

Black Suede G.A.S.S. shoes, for what it's worth. And Maroon Pumas for long-distance running.

;)

Psiload's memory of events is not relevant to the silly claims about witnessing aliens/not-aliens and their magical shape shifting craft. But the dishonest attempt to shift or deflect the burden of proof is noted.

Black Bata Scouts.

Fail...

Prove it.

Pictures? Maybe a video? Wait, those too could be faked.

I am sorry, you COULD be mis-remembering. It happens all the time.

So, the skeptical community has no choice but to conclude first, that you are wrong, and second that because you have no verifiable proof of these black bata scouts, that anything you say is now fictional.

You don't even have feet, do you?

Skepticism is fun.

Why because I didn't recall a mundane detail...?

Tell me, what color shoes did you wear in the 7th grade?

You don't remember???

That must mean you never wore shoes in the 7th grade...

If it helps, I don't recall what shoes I wore in the 7th grade. You have made a good point about memory being fallible.

This is not looking too good for the knowers/believers, is it?
