You forgot the part where Syria and Israel allied to dominate Lebanon. You also forgot Syria only recognized Lebanon in 2008... after the Hariri assassination. Calling Syria Hezbollah's ally is not that well thought out. It's not so rinse-y and repeat-y as you think. In fact almost every one was at one time allied with or fighting each other during the civil war.
