For the pro palestinian terrorist fans, you are wasting your time pointing this out. That it is an absolute violation of the Rules of Warfare in multiple forms gets glossed over OR at best covered as (and I am trying to avoid a strawman, but I am stating this as accurately as possible from posts by a number of people on this forum/in these threads) as either "......" or" but if they did not do that they would all be killed by the Israelis/IDF".That is only partially true. The commission looked at instances of rockets fired into Israel, which is only one of several types of the war crimes that Hamas was accused of. The other ones were all related to tactics who aim was to increase the level of civilian causalities on their own side, or blur the distinction between civilians and fighters: fighting without uniform, putting fighting units near civilians, using hospitals as headquarters. These were not seriously looked into, and the commission never interviewed Hamas fighters about their tactics, even though Hamas was supposedly cooperating with the commission.
Of course knowledge of these tactics is REQUIRED in order to judge whether many of the dead were civilians or not, and whether Israeli actions are justified or not. By not looking into that aspect the commission has made itself into a show trail. This is expanded upon it an excellent article, here. Goldestone as the head of this commission richly deserve criticism, though I would not support actions such as preventing him from attending a family event, etc.
I freely admit that my response to the latter tends to be "so what" as I don't care if they are killed, or whatever -do not like terrorists, never will, want them all dead. My attitude does not change the fact that they violate the rules of war and are, by default, responsible for any civilian deaths caused when Israelis are forced to attack them in responce to their assaults/attacks on Israel and Israeli civilians.
