Merged Their Return

You're new, so allow me to explain how wrong you are.

That you found the need to post, but not offer a solution reeks more of laziness, than intellectualism.

Clearly you don't want to play, so get out of way.

Start your own thread! This is a 'how to get the E.T's to descend', if the anecdotes are all correct, thread.

If you don't wish to take part, you may leave.

Your wit is only exceeded by your lack of originality.

It is no longer a wonder why I had you on my ignore list...

If you don't want to take part in the actual intended discussion, excuse yourself.

As retorts go, this one is neither funny, nor informative.

"Don't retreat, reload."

Take another shot buddy, I think you've got something useful in you, we just have to figure how how to get it past your ego.

And now we can add these, too...

Nothing I've asked for or of you has been dishonest or hidden.

I have repeatedly asked you to either take part in the intended discussion, or GO AWAY.

If you continue with your present course, you'll go back on my ignore list.

You sound a little paranoid, dude...

...Thank you for your input, regardless of how utterly useless.

And yes, dishonest. Opening a thread under the guise of chatting about a silly hypothetical situation, but with the ulterior motive of pursuing an agenda, advocating a "Moment Skyward" section at the opening ceremonies of the next Olympics, is dishonest. It's a 911 Truther and Christian creationist strategy.

Oh and in the light of references to gusset-bursting and golden showers, can I point out to everyone that the Sexual Fetishes thread is in Science, Maths, Medicine and Technology sub-forum. :)

A gusset is a small triangular or square piece of cloth inserted into a seam. Ooh la la!

Oh, really?

Remember, I am playing according to the rules you established. Here, however, my interpretation of UFO lore is opposite of yours, it is not of benevolent non-alien extraterrestrial skygods but of aliens (yes, extraterrestrial aliens) farming humans. Just like we do with cattle. Improve the stock, give it some vaccines, check their health, tag the cows, keep them docile... Ever noticed it also matches the abduction, examination and probing reports?

So, from my (ficticious) point of view, I'm not paranoid- I'm realistic. You are sounding, from this point of view, naive and sheepish (it's no wonder within this context that Christians enjoy the sheep analogy). How would you like to be served when the skydemons come back to do the harvest?

My interpretation is working pretty well; I even say it has a better fit with the lore than yours. Can you show its wrong? Can you imagine why both interpretations are possible?

Then I suggest you take a broader view of 'them'.

Generalizations are never a good thing. Yeshua is with them they can't be all bad.

I think that taking "a broader view of them" is akin to making even greater "generalizations" which KotA is saying are never a good thing.

Odd then that he is asking Correa to do that.

I think taking "a broader view of them" means hold an opinion more like that of the proposer. Whenever I suggest being open minded and consider the alleged alien sightings are some kind of gods having a go at the witnesses for the purpose of their own amusement, the aliens-are-real adherents poo-poo the idea. Or simply ignore it. But given the evidence is equal to that of the spacelings visiting Earth delusion, why stop there? Who is being closed minded here? Of course it's the folks who won't consider all the possibilities that fit the lack of evidence.

Leaving Yeshua :boggled: out of this for a moment, Correo Neto has got some learned boffins on his side. Not only does Stephen Hawking urge caution in our quest to contact alien life, but so does Simon Conway Morris, of the University of Cambridge:

Study: If We're Not Alone, We Should Fear the Aliens

I will concede that we should not paint them with a broad brush. In fact, every indication through religious texts are that it is godS, not a singular God, we are dealing with.

That said, as of late I've ben subjected to someone who takes a stance similar to yours, arguing that the fallen angels rebelled against God, and his demanding the human race worship him. He went on to say that it was these fallen angels who delivered fire and all of man's technology to him.

One side being for our liberation and ascension, and the other dedicated to the notion that we should remain beneath them.

Which IS an aspect of this 'inviting them down', I'd like to discuss. Maybe we should make "2" landing spaces available, "2" extra seats at the delegates table...?

*I have seen a painting of an aerial battle involving black spheres vs white spheres, maybe this is just symbolic of good vs evil, but it might also be evidence of the oldest Hatfield vs. McCoy struggle.

I am suggesting you not judge the whole, by the part...

Take a broader view, and see more parts.

The opposite of what you said.

Where did I say I was taking a stance? I referred to Hawking and Conway Morris.

Given the lack of any objective evidence that aliens exist, the broader view is anything anyone can make up which also lacks any objective evidence.

I think Hawking is making a generalization too, saying that they would have selfish intentions, ignores the centuries of the benevolent stories between man and god. In fact, the only remark I heard his make was how men have treated other men. He made no effort to reference actual interactions between men and the gods...

I have not heard of what C. Morris has said.

Hawking made no reference to stories, because they are stories. Written by men, usually men with ulterior motives designed to build a religion with many followers. It would pay to show off your gods' benevolent side if you wanted to attract the faithful.

Be that as it may, there's plenty of stories of 'gods' asking mankind to do all kinds of unspeakable things. Like murder their only son on top of a mountain. Nice.

Hawking, quite rightly in my view, compared the hypothetical aliens to the only other intelligent life forms that we know of who have gone in for exploration of other worlds.....us.

I have not heard of what C. Morris has said.

Only if you ignore the even more common stories of various temper tantrums by gods of all flavors, including (for just the Judeo-Christian god)wiping out almost every living thing on the planet, slaughtering dozens of children for laughing at a bald man, tormenting one of his followers (including the death of his family) just to prove how loyal he could make his sheep, ordering the genocide of entire nations, and promoting incest (just to name a few).

If we go into other mythologies, it's even worse.

Sorry, but if you're assuming the myths are true, you're looking at them through some seriously tinted glasses.

All MEN are created equal... Men are like "Men". Men are NOT like god/God/angels.

We live down here, they live up there. We set and live by 'our' rules, with some influence from above. ;)

There is every indication that we are different them them.

Comparisons between our past behavior and their current intentions are obscene.

They're not like women either. Historically, women haven't gone round making up stories about scary gods in order to have power and influence over others. This is why I specifically used the words 'usually men' not 'people' or 'mankind'.

On Planet KotA, they live 'up there', right?

Considering we're talking about some hypothetical omnipotent beings then you really entitled to believe what you want to believe about their current intentions. I'm not here to knock anyone's religious beliefs.
