Chaos Magic

There are also many other common experiences that seem to be universal among people that have experiences like this. I talked about some in one of my threads.

I'm not sure how people explain all of these away. There certainly appears to be some universal phenomena when people go through things like this.

Wiseman once sey: "You can't teach someone anything when they already know everything."

Tru dis...Tru dis...

Neurology.

Since people's brains are structured similarly, this is entirely predictable. We'd be very surpised if hallucinations and seizures didn't have a lot in common between individuals.

As for the spark sensation at the top of the head, the ringing sound, and the feeling of a presence - I've experienced all those myself, though not all at the same time.

Now -that- is genuinely interesting. Thanks.

I'm curious if there are any features of such cases that are consistent with phenomena like my friend and I experienced [such as a "spark"-like sensation at the crown of the head, and an accompanying high pitched ringing sound at the onset of the "contact"]. Also, do you know of any documented accounts of schizophrenics gaining veridical information from such conversant "hallucinations"? *_*
There are hundreds of thousands of documented claims.

There are zero documented instances.

Would you care to add some of your own claims into the mix...? >:}

Zanders: "Whats the explanation for these phenomena?"

PixyMisa: "Braindidit!"

Mine aren't claims of anything even slightly unusual. I don't go around web forums claiming that I had lunch, either.

I had an experience due to a neurological hiccup. Everyone has those. Only a certain percentage of people ascribe them to magic elves.

So, when you're ready to show your understanding that your own senses and memory are unreliable, that you readily construct false memories, that your belief that your memory is accurate actually contraindicates accuracy... Then perhaps we can talk usefully.

So long as you still insist that this experience can't even be bothered properly describe invalidates hundreds of years of scientific research, you're little more than a solipsist, and no-one can talk to you about anything.

Iono, seems you "attach great importantce" to it yourself. You, and several others, have just spent quite a few pages trying to reinterpret it and get me to tell more. Me thinks ye doth protest too much...
You came to a skeptics forum. We are skepting. What did you expect?

I've noticed you're dodging yet another question...

I suppose you must be one of them, PixyMisa. It would appear that you like to argue against "magic elves" and "fairies" at almost every opportunity yet you're the only one actually invoking them. Makes me wonder...

Whats that, PixyMisa??? I can't make out what you're trying to say thru all that desperate rambling and sputtering :p

Nothing even approaching the level of entertainment you're providing now. You've vastly exceeded my expectations :D

No.

AkuManiMani, you invoke magic elves at every turn. You merely refuse to name them.

You'd best stop rambling and spluttering then.

Nothing even approaching the level of entertainment you're providing now. You've vastly exceeded my expectations
If you can keep yourself so entertained merely by believing in fictions, at least you'll never be bored.

I've noticed you're dodging yet another question...
No.

"No" to the questions or "No" to the fact that you're consistently dodging them? ;)

So now I'M in denial about your magic elves? You're not making sense, Pixy...

So you're a fiction now..?

All human brains are wired in a similar manner.

Rats, beaten by one word.

I once took 480 VAC right thru the top of my head, saw a bright white light and felt calm while my body was convulsing on a platform 10 feet above an assembly line but it didn't seem like a paranormal event to me.:p

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

</wrist>

See? Far more amusing. Where would be the fun in turning you into a rational person capable of intelligent discussion? Heck, that would be shooting myself in the foot. If you did start approaching this discussion like a grownup, you might actually convince someone of your views rather than undermining them with your own words. Then I'd look pretty silly.

Good thing that won't happen.

AkuManiMani, to play to their side a little bit, is it possible that it was just a coincidence that your conversation with whatever it was said the other person had had a an experience before, and when she mentioned a similar odd experience she had you slightly changed it around in your mind to be exactly the same as what you experienced? I'm not saying that is true, just putting it out there.

Who is this "they?"

Zanders, your rate of yaw seems uncorrectable.

So now I'M in denial about your magic elves? You're not making sense, Pixy...

Oh, come on. This is getting stupid.

AkuManiMani, I've seen you participating in other threads, and I know you're not this obtuse. Pixy has made her argument perfectly clear.

No, there is nothing to disprove. Pixy isn't trying to prove that your hallucinations weren't paranormal. She's just saying that it's entirely possible for them to have been mundane, and that unless you actually present some evidence to support your belief that they aren't, your belief is irrational. You're free to still believe that it was paranormal, of course, but coming into a skeptic's forum and saying that it is rational for you to believe in the paranormal due to your experiences when you lack any proof whatsoever that they were paranormal... well... if you don't cut it out, I'm afraid we're all going to get a visit from Graham Chapman, and he is not going to be pleased.

Does being a "rational person" include not realizing when someones taking the piss on you? :p

Maybe coincidence is the explanation for every correlation? Its brilliant! :D
