Yassuh, we'uns is awful uppity atheists, fo' sho'!

Y'all want some sacramental wine to go wit' y'all's communion crackahs? :D

Yes, but they are still doing it today [...] the lies that the different faiths force on the poor and uneducated is far to shameful to let them get away with it.
Using condoms spread aids.
Raping toddlers can cure aids
You did say "different faiths," so I assume you're not presenting the toddler rape as a Christian tenet. Discouraging condom use in the midst of an AIDS epidemic (as the Pope did) is evil, and should be recognized as such. They seem to have dialed back the dogmatism a little in recent weeks, but still need to go further.

It has never been my impression that PZ intends his statements to be taken as boolean logic. What he said about her seems to be essentially true, a few instances of Christian approved Muslim bashing notwithstanding. If you hear someone say the sky is blue, do you publicly eviscerate them on a stone slab for daring to utter such lies when it is clearly black, white, grey, red, orange, and green at times as well, or is there some particular reason you've singled PZ out for such pedantry?
PZ's statement was more akin to saying "Earth's skies are not orange" than "the sky is blue." Yes, if someone made such a statement, I'd post pictures of an orange sky, and point out that the statement was false. I am not going to pretend a lie is "essentially true" just because it comes from PZ Myers' blog.

The opinion fit with the evidence I saw.
So another "skeptical atheist" who doesn't consider accounts of forced conversion to be a criticism of religion. I guess we too will simply have to agree to disagree.

I can't put the Darwin fish on my car because my clients might be offended if they see it. How many Christians would be worried about clients seeing a Jesus fish on their car?

If you truly believe that atheism isn't a faith, then why would you want a Darwin fish on the back of your car? Neither the fish nor Darwin cares.

The point I am was questioning "It happens all the time" Does it...really? Then no atheist can hold down a job in America. If an atheist does hold down a job, then suddenly it must be anything less than all the time.

It could be anything from common to very rare.

And of course we know the US represents the whole world

Nice strawman. Polls show the Merkins trust atheists less than they trust gays. And they would never elect an atheist president. Pure prejudice.

How does a Darwin fish signify a faith practice? If I see a Christian ichthys on the back of a car, I can safely assume whoever put it there prays to and believes in a god.

Who does the Darwin fish owner pray to?

Why does a non-faith require a symbol to be displayed?

Who said it was required? Desired is good enough, isn't it?

Am I displaying faith when I put a bumper sticker on my car?

Is it a symbol of faith if I wear a pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness?

For a while I had a US Census 2010 window cling in my front window, because I worked for the Census last summer. Was it a "faith symbol?"

You're conflating opinion with religious faith. They aren't the same.

I'm not saying these things shouldn't be done, I'm saying that I, personally, can't see the point. And, no, I don't have bumper-stickers, I don't wear ribbons or wristbands or poppies or any other symbol that I've given to charity, or anything of that nature. It's not important to me to declare to others what my opinions are. I don't understand why it is to anybody.

And, yes, having a symbol which symbolises "evolution is real" seems to me to be a direct and deliberate equivalent of having one which symbolises "Jesus is real". If it's not an article of faith, then I don't understand the point in having it.

Sceptic Tank, I still have my POW/MIA bracelet. Does that mean I believe the Vietnam War was a good thing? Of course not. Taking a display to mean a sign of faith is nonsensical, as anybody with a Cubs sticker on their car will attest.

She's definitely a Fox sycophant, which means the religion she's critical of is mostly Islam -- seems to be opposed to the Ground Zero Mosque, for instance. I'm not completely convinced she's an atheist -- it may be a cynical marketing ploy. I agree, she'll probably make a lot of money at Fox, though she may need to go blond to really maximize her earnings.

But as an example of a "critical of religion" link, here's one -- and she even says something negative about Christianity, though admittedly it's that "Old Time Religion" from hundreds of years ago:

Thanks, bokonon. The first time I saw her interviewed, my impression was that she was a faux atheist who will 'convert' when her popularity wanes to give her another boost of interest; and a new role as Fox's 'former atheist'. Maybe she'll go blonde then. But maybe I'm getting cynical in my old age and she's being sincere and I just can't see it.

That's an absurd interpretation bordering on straw.

Operative word, so actually you dont know either way and just assume
