is osama bin laden dead or alive?

It is blatantly obvious to anyone with a properly functioning brain that she wasn't talking about Osama.

how do you know?

How do I know? Because I've read books and stuff.

I know exactly what she is talking about and I know that she doesn't mean Osama bin Laden. However, she had just mentioned bin Laden a bit earlier in the interview IIRC and had been speaking to Sir David about bin Laden in the present tense and she mentioned bin Laden in her books and in other interviews and never once had she said he had died years ago.

well in the Interview with David she doesn't mention OBL. watching it again now.

I've heard that Osama might be hiding in a cave in Pakistan, but I've certainly never read of anybody accusing him of being Pete Burns.

after 10 years of an extensive search by the most powerful nation on earth, looking for the most wanted man on earth, i think it's pretty likely that obl is dead.
i am certainly not alone in my thinking.
the videos of him are widely accepted as fakes, and the audio quality on the tapes is so poor, t hat they do nothing to counter my beliefs.

what say you?

"The problem with internet quotes that refer to things being widely accepted is that often times they're wrongfully believed to be real." - Abraham Lincoln.

hmmm.......lincoln.....internet quotes....cool.
point taken. widely accepted was an overstatement.
however, i live and learn.
two years on survivalist boards have certainly made my cynical.
the journey from cynical to skeptical is an interesting one.

on obl, i am enjoying the posts.
honestly, more solid evidence than poor videos and poorer audios would do more to convince me.

I need more coffee. I somehow misread the OP as "Obama".
He's still alive, I take it?

My guess is ObL is alive. Question is- is he still worth hunting?

Is the head of the organization that killed 3000 Americans worth hunting? Duh yeah. We want his head.

Well at the risk of being boring, yes she did mention Osama bin Laden. She mentioned "Hamza bin Laden" and went on to say he was the son of Osama bin Laden. She says this about a minute or two before then mentioning Omar Sheikh. If you'll notice she is also talking about the kidnappings that were carried out by associates of Omar Sheikh if not by him as well. Omar Sheikh is essentially known almost exclusively for his role in the murder of Daniel Pearl. So why you or anyone would think that Benazir Bhutto would seek to introduce him into the interview with the little-known bombshell that he also killed Osama bin Laden is for you to work out.

Anyone who knows a bit more about the subject will simply realize she made a slip of the tongue.

Now clearly there has been some confusion that has come in here with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed also, apparently confessing to the murder of Daniel Pearl and that is something that genuinely puzzles me. Benazir Bhutto's words don't.

Hey man, no need to get all ivory tower on us.

:p

Yeah, sorry about that.

For the record, the books are:

Ahmed Rashid Descent Into Chaos
Jason Burke Al Qaeda
And I've also leafed through Benazir Bhutto's Daughter of Destiny. In that book she refers to Osama bin Laden in the present tense and given that Omar Sheikh was arrested in 2002, if he had been the "murderer" of Osama bin Laden, she probably would have thought to have mentioned it by now. If, of course, she wasn't planning on letting anyone know at all then she wouldn't have told David Frost on Al-Jazeera.

Eric Rudolph, the Olympic Bomber, was able to avoid capture for nearly five years. This was here in the US with only family and friends to help him. OBL has a wee bit more of a support structure.

Ah, surely this is the political equivalent of Schrödinger's cat? OBL is both dead AND alive until a Marine pokes him/his dead body with a stick? ;)

virus...who's 'we'?.....you got a mouse in your pocket?
dude...you are not american.

Interesting. If you're not American, you should be disinterested in the mass-murder of thousands of Americans. Is America the new Israel or something?
