Hey, doesn't Marvel Comics provide evidence for why we know the Edda writers told the truth? And, as I've mentioned elsewhere, the Prose and Poetic Eddas include embarrassing details about the Aesir and Vanir (e.g. Thor in drag) and difficult sayings of the gods. Really difficult. Seriously, there are bits of the Poetic Edda that don't make a lick of sense. So the Eddas must be true, right? I mean, fiction wasn't invented until--what--last week? And Iceland doesn't have any trees, so no paper.

"False" Gods
Several beings have either claimed to be gods, or were mistaken for gods. These include:
Apocalypse (worshipped as Huitzilopochtli, Kali-Ma, Set, possibly others)
Axi-Tun
Beta Ray Bill (an alien warrior who was an avatar of Thor for a short time and has since been given his own similar powers)
Demons (many were originally Elder Gods, and/or were worshiped as gods even in their demonic forms)
Eternals (Zuras was mistaken for Zeus, et cetera)
Horusians
Selene the Black Queen (worshipped as a goddess in Nova Roma)
Storm (worshipped as a goddess in Kenya)
Not to mention The Beyonder: a young Deity finding Himself, causing two "Secret Wars" and then departing to start his own Universe.
So Marvel Comics provides not only evidence for Superheroes (which we know to be true because nearly all of them have "embarrassing details" printed about their lives", and because they have tens of thousands of copies, and because these historical documents also include well known historical figures...etc), but also evidence for nearly all the other Pantheons of Gods as well.
Jesus does make a appearance in a number of Marvel Comics, but there is little indication that Jesus is any more special than any of the other Deities. Apparently there is also a reference to the "One-Above-All" a vague and mysterious being that is allegedly the Creator god of Marvel Universe. However as Marvel is a proponent of Multiple Universes Theory, there are no doubt Multiple Creator Gods (of which The Beyonder is One).
Given all the evidence that fits the criteria that DOC has set forth, I propose that there is evidence of the existance of ALL the Deities and Superheroes set forth in Marvel Comics. In fact, as many of the stories in marvel Comics are contemporaneous, I would suggest that their versions of the Deities are more accurate than the NT.
