Witness describes explosions at North Tower

[...snipped preceding rational post....]

The bickering over one single element out of the many proves my point.

Yup. Bickering over one single element is all truthers can do considering which way the preponderance of evidence points when viewed as a whole.

As far as I'm aware, the kitchen at the top of the Prudential Center in Boston is on the same level as the restaurant. So, assuming I'm not wrong, it's not unheard of to have gas lines running up for a restaurant.

But I could be wrong.
If memory serves, (I did some work in the building) the kitchen is located on the floor below and it is fueled with propane tanks that are brought up when needed.

Well, then I'm wrong :p

Being a poor college student, all I've done is go up there to look out the windows. They give me snobby looks when I walk by :(

You haven't missed much, the foods not that great and the drinks are "pricey". The observation deck is on the 50th floor and the restaurant occupies the 51st and 52nd floors (along with some mechanicals on the 51st).

:)

I honestly don't think there were gas lines in the buildings. I cannot see any reason to have NG on any of the floors below.

Steam lines, yes. They would heat water, HVAC, etc, for all the tennant needs. Presumably, steam would be made in the basement levels, perhaps even one big plant to serve both towers.

And I think the kitchen for the restaurant was in the basement, and food was whisked up the express elevators, perhaps also involving some kind of IR plate warmers and/or insulated carts.

An electric kitchen would indeed suck it sideways, but could be used for soups and such, and lessen the load on the runners from the basements.

Also, when you read the NIST report, there is absolutely zero mention of gas mains being severed by the plane impacts and adding to the fires, or any mention of safety devices kicking in and preventing that. None.

Just sayin'

I could have sworn that right after 9/11 I read an article on WOTW that said the kitchen was in the basement cause the FDNY didn't want gas lines up to the top. A lot of gas lines were damaged in the collapses though. The local area lost its service after the attacks but the damaged sections were isolated and the service was up relatively quickly.

Steam is generated in NYC by the utility companies. Most buildings use steam esp the large ones. The Freedom tower and the new 7WTC are using steam heat (and limited oil and NG heat, I assume on the lower/sub levels). I assume (but can't find a reference) that the original buildings used steam too.

In conclusion: It looks like there was NG on site but not in the towers themselves.

In the first few years surrounding the 9/11 controversy, the reaction to reports that there had been explosions before and during the destruction of the towers was that there absoloutely were no explosions.

Now everybody agrees that "of course there were explosions."

So if you are wrong once, how can you be sure you are right?
There no assertion that there were no "explosions" Truthers like yourself assert that explosions can only be caused by bombs. Than those of us who subscribe to reality understand explosions are caused by many things. Since there is no evidence of bombs, the explosions were cause by something else.

I'm confused as to why I am required to suspect explosives when there is no evidence of explosives. Witness accounts of explosions are NOT evidence of explosives. Only an idiot would think that absent corroborating evidence.

Electric burners are terrible for controlling heat. Find a decent chef that will use them.

I'll bet a few bucks that you won't.

I just want to correct this a little. More recently electric grills have become popular for applications with extremely high heat for the fact that the heat can be controlled with extreme precision. I believe they are using quartz elements much like you'd find in portable heaters.

In Japan. They're not very popular here yet.

Not that it matters, but it's easy to contact the head Chef from Windows on the World. He still has a restaurant in New York or maybe it was Boston (or both).

Of course the embarrassment of asking would be prohibitive. Not having gas in a restaurant is ludicrous, and I imagine it's still a sensitive enough subject. He'd probably think you were a nutter for asking.

Does all this mean that Quiproquo, ergo and thecritta think explosives were used to destroy the towers?

If so do they discount thermite/thermate?

That is a gas stove. No doubt about that. It's most likely made by Hobart, given the fact that there is also a Hobart flattop griddle in the background.

What would make the two items -explosives and thermite/thermate -mutually exclusive ?
Why can't the two items be used in conjunction ?

Because then you are back to the problem of the explosives being silent, which isn't possible. You should know this by now.

Because the only reason that Steven Jones invented the thermite hypothesis is to explain away the total lack of sounds of explosives going off immediately before the collapses.
