Republicans value the rich more than jobless Americans

Extending unemployment for the middle class will continue the pumping of billions of dollars into the economy.

Extending tax cuts for the wealthy, will also continue putting money into the economy.

So, oh why, do the GOPers not support extending unemployment?

so I'm clear on your stance...

you Are or Are Not for extending unemployment benefits indefinitely...meaning...forever?

and if not forever, could you narrow down how long they should be extended for...round off to the nearest year or decade if you need to.

No, no, no. One argument at a time. Do you now admit that when you said that Republicans don't want to give anything to people who lose their jobs that you were either a) wrong or b) lying? Let's clear that up, and then we can move on to your other errors in logic and facts.

I am correct. Republicans do not care about jobless americans.

You're statement says it all:

"Republicans believe that people who lose their jobs shouldn't then have a lifetime of tax payer funded early retirement, no strings attached"

As if this hyperbolic statement has any bearing on the reality of the job market today, or of how people are using their unemployment benefits.

define "care"

who's the more "caring" person?

the man who gives a man a fish every day
or
the man who teaches the man how to fish

I'll give you a fish to eat today...and tomorrow...and all next week...but darnit, sooner or later you're gonna have to take the pole and do it yourself!

and its CUT OFF if you are not looking for work.

Unemployment is not a blind handout...with no strings attached.

Republicans like to spread the myth that the unemployed are lazy bums that want to live off the government teet. I sure didn't feel that way when I had to use unemployment benefits for the 3 months after I was laid off. And it's also a myth that one can simply get a minimum-wage job if they had to. I was told that I was overqualified for plenty of jobs until I finally got hired.

So, can the GOPers tell us again why its ok to raise the deficit to give the rich a tax cut...but its NOT ok to raise the deficit to extend unemployment benefits to the middle-class and poor?

Can the GOPers tell us again how giving the rich a tax cut will stimulate the economy...but ending unemployment benefits for millions of Americans will not reduce spending?

Sorry, but you lied and were caught. I'm still waiting for the cite I asked for it. Please respond with one. Failure to do so will just be an admission that you made up the charge.

Thaiboxerken likes to spread the myth that republicans think the unemployed are lazy bums that live off the government. When you say republicans do you mean most republicans , all republicans , a small percentage of republicans. I do know a few that believe that way but I know a few democrats who also believe that way.

Elected Republicans believe this. Every single one that voted against extending unemployment benefits. It started with Kentucky’s Jim Bunning and Nevada's Dean Heller.

“I believe there should be a federal safety net,” Heller said, but he questioned the wisdom of extending unemployment benefits yet again to a total of 24 months, which Congress is doing. “Is the government now creating hobos?” he asked.

So you are saying not voting to extend unemployment benefits without a source of the funds is the same as believing people on unemployment are lazy bums.

By a vote of 258 to 154, the proposal to extend benefits through February fell short of the two-thirds margin needed to pass the House under special rules allowing an expedited vote.

Some 21 Republicans joined 237 Democrats to vote for the measure, while 11 Democrats and 143 Republicans voted against.

Under normal rules, the measure needs only a simple majority to pass. Democratic leaders in the House said they would schedule another vote for the week of November 29.

Some republicans voted for it and some democrats voted against it . But they didn't vote against extending extending benefits them they voted against extending them under expedited vote rules. This required a 2/3rds margin.

And they want to cut taxes for the wealthy. Stop they claim to be fiscally responsible for voting down unemployment benefits while wanting to sink the nation further into debt with a tax give-away to hhe wealthy.

Allowing someone to keep what is rightfully his does not constitute a “give-away”.

Probably because your first statement is completely, totally, thunderously false. Taking money from some people, and giving it to others, does not “pump” money into the economy. Those to whom the money is given have more to spend, but those from whom it was taken have less, by the same amount.

yet another FINE MYTH of the repugnican teatards.

the attitude about estate taxes is a perfect example of the LIE that repugnicans perpetuate about taxes.

If my daddy dies wealthy enough that he didn't have to use up his money to pay for nursing homes and health care than I should be able to get HIS money without paying taxes on it. ONLY republicans would consider this "their" money and think it's OK to do it without having to pay taxes at the expense of the middle class.

No, it isn't. The Federal budget is running a deficit in the trillions of dollars.

All the available money has already been spent. None of it is sitting around in "idle funds".
The idle funds refers to the funds private market is willing to loan to the government because they cannot find a better place for it. If the private market was seriously competing to use that money then the government would have to pay a much greater interest rate on the loans.

The private market is sitting on vast quantities of money. It is not circulating and it is not growing the economy.
