Liberals and faux conservatives like to say that multiculturalism/tolerance/secularism are American values.

But this is transparently ignorant. America upon it's founding enslaved the negro, displaced savages with productive white colonists, and executed gays.

In this forum maybe. If the nation as a whole was polled, they would vote in favor of America being a White Christian nation. And you forget, in any case, the fact that we're a Republic not a Democracy- our constitution trumps the will of the voters.

The First Amendment explicitly protects the individual's freedom of religion and the individual's freedom from a state church.

The only other mention of religion is the prohibition against any kind of religious test or religious oath of office. The Constitution does not mention the words "God" or "Christian" or "Jesus" or "Christ" at all. Not even once.

The Treaty of Tripoli (1796-7 less than 10 years after the Constitution was ratified) explicitly denies that we are a Christian nation.

Your argument that we are a Christian nation is indefensible.

Only in schools that have been corrupted by the thirty-year dumbing-down inflicted by the religious right. It is no coincidence that racism is most apparent in states that want to teach creationism in the public schools.

If God created an immutable human species, it follows that He assigned them lower places on the scale of worth as humans for a reason, and that the seeming lack of cultural adaptablity of African nations was just God's will.

Don't count on it. The Army is heavily black and Hispanic and Asian and all sorts of mixed-races. The Army is, in fact, where a large percentage of inter-racial marriages occur, both from soldiers stationed overseas in places like Korea, and from white guys actually coming into contact with black women on an equal basis for the first time in their lives. You would be utterly amazed at the number of white male soldiers who are married to black women. Here in the Seattle/Tacoma area, for instance, we have the highest percentage in the nation of families listing more than one race on the census. We also have some of the best-educated people in the country out here. The two are not unrelated.
