You probably realize that my sarcasm was a strong indication of my opinion that you are overprotective and paranoid, and overall a pretty bad parent. But just in case you're oblivious, let me say it: you are overprotective and paranoid, and it's likely that your daughter will rebel against you, leading her to get into troublesome and riskier situations than she would have had had you let her breathe a bit more.
What because my daughter wouldn't be hanging around 19 year old boys alone until she's 18? I suppose you have to pick and chose your battles and this happens to be one of them. You're as entitled to your opinion as I am to mine, no need for sarcasm.
You're basically saying two things here: a) that it's near-impossible for an older guy to want to interact with a teenage girl in a non-sexual way; and b) that your teenage daughter should be watched at all times, just in case she might encounter a rapist.
a) pretty much, I'd say maybe 1 out of 10? I think it really depends on the girl. Assuming she attracts as much attention from male suitors as I did from female at that age, probably 1 in 50 maybe higher.
b)no, I'm saying I would identify high risk activities and protect her from them. I really don't see how you've missed 9 pages of this being repeated over, and over and over again
b) is paranoid misandry, and is counter-productive. Sure, it might prevent rape... it might also alienate your daughter to the point of causing her unhappiness. But that's okay, since the tiny risk of rape is now reduced to 0!
Actually no, you're wrong. I'm really shocked that a woman would say this. Perhaps you should read this thread :

High-risk activity...

I'm so glad that I am not so bitter as to treat every older boy as a potential rapist.
See the above thread, There's another one that may interest you but the title eludes me right now. I strongly suggest you read that thread.
"Beat the odds"? When you say someone beat the odds, you're saying that it was more likely for them to fail than to succeed. So you're saying that it was MORE likely for me to be raped than NOT raped. Wow.
Math and statistics isn't your strong suit is it?
You're right. I am contributing to the endemic rapes that occur in society. How shall I ever sleep at night.
Hopefully not with some guy you've met a few times at the bar and decided to go hoe with drunk. But it's up to you now isn't it?
By the way, I actually find it somewhat insulting that you think I was being naive by trusting those guys. I mean, do you think that just because I was 15, I had no judgment whatsoever? My parents raised me right, and I definitely knew if someone was suspicious to hang out with or not.
You really just don't understand statistics do you?
I think you're sexist, but now I'm not sure if you're sexist against men ("most men are lecherous creeps and potential rapists, and no girl should ever be left alone with any of them"), or women ("girls are naive and must constantly be protected from their own stupidity").
Sexist against older men dating my younger daughter from the age of 16-20 something? Or fulfilling my duty as parent protecting my daughter the best way I see fit until she's 18 sexist? No just a guy who lived a lot of life from the age of about 14-22.
At what point do you realize that you're projecting? Just curious.
At what point do you realize you're own experience from the age of 15-22 probably wasn't anything like mine, or the girls I "hung out with" or anything like what I would anticipate for my own daughter? It's pretty clear from how you've described things it wasn't the same? Think about that
