Interestingly (or maybe not), there's already polling being done on various matchups against Obama. Sarah Palin polls the worst of the bunch.

44% - 52%

Obama v. Palin
52% - 44%

Obama v. Gingrich
49% - 47%

In 1982, Reagan's reelect numbers looked bad too.

Considering the mood of the electorate, I'm surprised Obama's numbers are that good. They will change daily until it's time to vote in 2012.

A poll today is roughly as accurate as the Farmers Almanac is predicting the weather on 2012 election day.

So, let me ask: What precisely qualifies someone as a Republican In Name Only? Which specific policies are absolutely necessary in order for one to be considered a 'real' Republican? Is, for example, being strongly against abortion such a necessity?

Roe v Wade is settled law, and every conservative should be cheering at fewer potential Democrat voters. RINO's are those willing to meet liberal-progessives half-way on any program extending Federal powers, instead of saying Hell No.

McCain is a perfect example. Romney's track record should give many conservatives pause.

I don't think the Patriot Act was being pushed by lefty-libs. And unfortunately No Child Left Behind is just more good money after bad. The progressives AFDC and all subsequent programs, and all Fed control of education, are all in that 'bad' applecart.
