No. Common sense is innate.

Clearly it is less common, and make less sense than you think it does.

Yes I believe I had that thought too, because that is what would happen in a Hollywood movie.

Funnily enough I was shocked at how they collapsed because my "commonsense' said that buildings don't collapse like that......however a little inquiry into how the building was constructed combined with my Engineering background made it quite clear that they failed just like they would have been predicted to given the circumstances.
My commonsense now is that if I'm in a high steel framed building thats on fire...I'm getting out ASAP.

Wow, I take a breather from this and come back to a rather odd thread in which we are being told that an uneducated, subjective visceral response , aka 'common sense' is to be lauded above an educated, objective and logical examination.

That is so telling of many in the camp that do not accept the common narritive of 9/11/01 and why they refuse to be swayed from essentially politically motivated judgements.

No I am not referring to "genetic memory," 1337m. I am referring to the ability of infants to learn language. This demonstrates the existence of some type of innate reasoning ability.

If common sense is "innate", then that would mean that the common sense of Truthers & their theories are innate as well.

Considering that the word "innate" means: instinctive; not learned, Truthers haven't learned anything about 9/11, because they rely on other Truthers instincts.

Hmmm, interesting thoughts.
Given that 9/11 conspiracy believers are united soley in that they do not believe the commonly accepted narritive and little else it would seem that 'common sense' ends at that point.
It comes down to 'it looks odd......'.

So far there is no 'learning' involved in the 'common sense' of the 9/11 conspiracists and thus yes, their take on the events are 'innate' by that definition. Once one actually looks at the technical arguements however one easily sees that this 'common sense' does not make sense and that understanding this takes actually 'learning'.

Quiproquo, illustrates this lack of applied 'learning' quite well, beginning with a missing 'd'.

You might as well ask, if the ability to learn language is inate, why don't all children speak the same language? Because the ability is to learn the language one is exposed to, and for deaf children that won't be a spoken language.

Truthers never read the book about the little boy who cried wolf. Apparently the Truthers are crying "wolf" when they bring up their theories.

Thier conclussions are not that common. If it were, it would be in the history books as a complete failure on their part.

Which is why all of mine get talked to in every language we can muster, including ASL and Esperanto. Beepgurl took Latin in HS, and talks to her sibs now in what I have to assume (since I can follow the vocab, but not grammar) is grammatically correct Latin. English, French, some German, Spanish (both Columbian and Mexican -- they are *not* the same -- "A" grills me when we head all the way south to make sure I remember "the list of terms you don't use around my mother") and I'm trying to learn Polish, to help with research in other areas.

I wish Unka John was around to teach them Mandarin, which I usetacould understand, but never quite mastered speaking. I mean, d*mn -- meaning completely changes based on inflection?
