This tract says that Santeria or Voodoo curses actually work. I've met a lot of American Protestants who believe that Satanists and such can do real magic.

I wonder what would happen if all the Satanists and Pagans in the US got together and held a big Press Conference where they did some sort of ritual and put a curse on all the Fundamentalist Churches...

I guess we would just see a lot of Fundies running around giving more money to any charlatan who claimed to be able to protect them.

They should not curse those church, it would only feed their martyr/they-are-after-us complex.

Just make the satanist publicly endorse the fundamentalist church, and say "they are doing a great job for our master Satan". Or something.

Thanks much for the link. The cartoon was actually quite amusing. Especially the panel that reads "Get this priest out of here!" I usually reserve that statement only when they come asking for donations.

Amazing thing about these guys is that they say the path through salvation is in the Bible. But since you can get a copy of a Bible for free (or nearly so) it always needs to be supplemented with something they can charge for (like the tapes or books).

Part of me is disgusted, part of me wants in on the deal.

You're welcome. Jack Chick is a fundy among fundys and many of his comics are actually hilarious. Let me suggest "Doom Town". This has a lot of gay men kissing and frolicking and doing nasty things.

It's not just protestants. I had a priest in my Catholic high school who taught us about exorcism and how demons come up from hell. Apparently there are still Catholic priests who get trained in exorcism (though I'm given to understand it's not many).

And the Harry Potter books. There are people who actually believe that you can learn real, functioning magical spells from those kids books.

Which leads one to wonder why, if that were true, there aren't a lot of kids flying around on broomsticks right now. Or at least accioing the TV remote from across the room. But that's a logical, reasonable question, so it would never occur to the sort of person who holds that kind of belief.

When I lived in Tennessee, a Baptist kid told me his parents told him when he was little that Catholics had to wear their hair styled to hide their horns. He said they weren't trying to be funny.

Which just goes to show how ignorant they were--can anyone imagine having horns and not displaying them? They would be awesome! It would give you more options for hairstyles, and you could hang ornaments from them. A whole new realm of jewelry and accessories would open up! Gold plating! Wrap them in glowsticks! String things between them! I wonder if I could get them installed?

This is true. The church that I came from believe in this dark spiritual realm called the principalities and powers of Satan. I guess there are demon's at your side waiting to make a lamp move across the room for you.
