In Colorado, every Democratic candidate for a national office is being tied to Pelosi.

The line used in one campaign ad claims that the Democrat voted 92% with Pelosi instead of with Colorado. Operating under the theory that every single vote Pelosi made would hurt Colorado.

I supposed to simple minded people it would, but hopefully enough Colorado voters aren't simple minded to overcome such campaign tripe.

In a new smear, Congressman Ed PerlmutterWP is being accused of voting to provide Viagra to convicted rapists. Bringing up one of the right wing myths spread about the health care bill. I understand that a similar attack has made against Harry Reid in Nevada.

The ad was paid for by American Action Network, a group closely linked to our old friend Karl Rove.

Apparently the clause was specifically added to the health bill to use as a trap for election time smears. Good way to help kill of democracy.

If you notice the proposed amendment also had an anti-abortion provision. Just to assure that any pro-choice Democrat would have to vote against it.

I suspect you are right, the smear was probably planned when the amendment was written.

The final Health Care bill doesn't actually mention rapists, child molesters or ED drugs.

At least one local TV station has decided to pull this ad.

No one has mentioned Angle's ad that depicts undocumented workers as Hispanic gang members.

That's insane. Chances are pretty good Hispanic gang members grew up here. Immigrants have come here to work.

I think I found something from a County Attorney campaign in Kentucky to top them all:

A political flier (shown below) recently sent out against Republican challenger Steve Franzen by the group “Keep James A. Daley County Attorney” depicts national rock artists as criminals.

The really hilarious part - after pointing out some of the laws this flier broke (starting with copyright and slander) - is what the opponent had to say about this:

“We’re talking about the county attorney here,” Franzen said. “At the very least he ought to be able and willing to run a campaign within the bounds of the law. :boggled:

To be fair, this flier came from an outside group, but still...:eye-poppi

At the time it was mostly an attempt to derail the health care reform bill during the reconciliation process. Any passed ammendment would send the bill back to the House for another vote. So, the GOP proposed a bunch of "common sense" ammendments that forced the Dems to either vote them down or delay health care reform.

A recent ad by Joe Sestak (Pennsylvania Senate race) trying to label Pat Toomey as a career Wall Streeter is really stretching the truth. I thought it far from the truth because Pat Toomey has been a former congressman, restauranteur, and also head of the political organization Club for Growth (my favorite spot for my $$$ donations)

Anyway, it turns out that Pat Toomey's brief stint on Wall Street as a currency trader was only for 7 years and it ended 20 YEARS AGO! Typical Democrat lying sleazy tactics.

Is this the ad you have in mind?

I did a quick search for Sestak ads, and this is the only one I found which looked similar to what you're talking about.

In the ad, Toomey is referred to as "Wall Street's congressman". But that's not because Toomey worked on Wall Street; it's because (according to the ad) Toomey works for Wall Street.

Here's a transcript of the portion of the ad in which the phrase "Wall Street's congressman" is used:

Narrator: "Do you think corporations pay their fair share? Pat Toomey thinks corporations shouldn't pay any taxes."

Toomey: "Let's not tax corporations... I think the solution is to eliminate corporate taxes altogether."

Narrator: "The middle class is struggling. But Toomey thinks it's oil companies and Wall Street banks who should pay no taxes. Zero. No wonder Toomey's been called 'Wall Street's Congressman'."

If that is the ad you have in mind, then your characterization of it is somewhat dishonest. So very likely you are referring to a different ad, one which I wasn't able to locate in my hasty search. Could you post a link to the ad you are referring to, and quote the lines in it which you think are dishonest, so the rest of us can see whether you have a valid point or not?
