The 'Homosexual Agenda'

Black people are oppressed because there are bigoted people who see them as different, and want them to stay "in their place". Gays are oppressed because of pretty much the same thing.

The fact that gays are not oppressed shows how tolerant our society really is. Any other group with demands like the gays would be shunned, they want to teach kids to be gay at schools and want their parents to separate and follow their urges because they hate the traditional family so much.

Black people are oppressed just because of the skin color.

“The family unit — spawning ground of lies, betrayals, mediocrity, hypocrisy and violence — will be abolished. The family unit, which only dampens imagination and curbs free will, must be eliminated.”

I believe all humans are equal regardless of skin color and the bible does not say that black people are slaves. The bible does say that marriage is between a man and a woman, not between a man and a man or a dog and a man.

I am not even a believer but I have to defend the christian culture when it is under attack. Every time I see homosexuals marching they attack religion and western culture, they don't understand that they can live in peace just fine but they demand religious organizations to support their lifestyle and attack the rights of believers and conservatives.

Hate crimes law is one of the ways that the homosexual agenda is destroying the liberties of other people, even thinking negatively about the gays is a crime in their fantasy world.

so? Not all blacks were slaves, but the ones in the USA, and those slaves did atack cristian culture. and contradicted what Jesus said. It was them that did not respect the bible and Christian culture.

but back to topic, i was not aware gays want religions to accept their marriage, i believed they wanted to be able to marry eachother by the government, not by the church.

And what does it matter what the bible said?
it is an old fantasy book. those that believe in it should try to live their live according to it, but what does that have to do with other people?
when they want to marry eachother, so be it.
why would you use the bible as an "argument" when you are not even a believer?

you are just homophobe. you claim alot nonsense that shows your ignorance.

So there just happened to be more gay people per capita in Ancient Greece than in Modern America? Listen to what you're saying, it doesn't make sense. Many people live in a grey zone of sexuality between fully straight and fully gay, and they can choose to express it in one way or another, albeit regulated by cultural norms. A substantial cultural shift can change what people choose to express. Ancient Greece, Ancient Greece, and Ancient Greece are my arguments.

As I said, a return to Ancient Greece, or something very similar.

It's hard to make the proper gestures and facial expressions online, but, really, what I'm saying is not hard to understand. People just have their defenses up because they think I'm in some way "anti-gay".

Except when you look at what actually happened in Ancient Greece.

For a start, the fact that it was only ok to be with a male until they actually hit puberty and actually start looking like a male. Basically it started being not ok when it wasn't paedophilia any more.

It's pretty hard to make a case that more people actually had gay sexual preferences back then, when actually for the vast majority it only happened for as long as that child basically looked like a girl.

(This continued with the Romans too. It was ok for someone very young to have the female role, but very much not ok for an adult male.)

Also, depending on time and place, a lot of the time it was actually frowned upon actually having sex with your underage protege.

It's also hard to tell exactly how much gay sex was actually happening. It wasn't actually prescribed to actually do it. As long as you played the role of having an underage protege, you'd be perfectly within the social norms even without actually having any sex. And again, in various times and places, that's actually the only thing that was actually within the social norms.

It's also not hard to notice that there was a brisk trade for _female_ prostitutes and hetaeras (deluxe prostitutes or long time paid mistresses), and often even parties and social occasions included hiring a few. So however socially acceptable it may have been to be a gay pedophile, a _lot_ of people, including such notable figures as Pericles, still preferred a (hired) vagina. Between boning a kid for free and paying for an experienced woman, you get the idea, a heck of a lot preferred to part with the money and bone a woman.

But there's a more perverse aspect that I only skimmed so far. Being a certain kind of gay was fashionable and considered an integral part of the Greek way. But we don't really know if that was really descriptive or prescriptive. We don't know how many of them actually got a boner at a young boy's ass, and how many just went with the flow and just said they too are proper Greeks. And we don't know even if going with the flow was actually that common. As in all us-vs-them chest-thumping exercises, they chest-thumped and exaggerated a lot.

Basically they were no more honest than we are. Just like nowadays you get fundies chest-thumping that everyone is properly straight in their parts (or very nearly everyone, except for a few guys with an agenda), the Greeks were chest-thumping that everyone is properly bisexual in their parts. Likely it was just as much BS for them.

Don't get me wrong, there was homosexuality around too, and we know that for _some_ it continued well into adulthood. Or that even some otherwise respectable people preferred to play the female role for sex, so to speak. There even was a certain amount of male prostitutes to satisfy such customers.

But at the end of the day we really don't know how many people were really gay in Greece. It's hard to make a case whether it was more or fewer than today, as percentage of the population, because really we don't know.

So gays aren't oppressed? When did this start?

Any other group with demands like the gays would be shunned, they want to teach kids to be gay at schools and want their parents to separate and follow their urges because they hate the traditional family so much.

No.

Black people are oppressed just because of the skin color.
And wanting to be treated equally, go to work or school without being harassed, live their lives...why does this sound familiar?

“The family unit — spawning ground of lies, betrayals, mediocrity, hypocrisy and violence — will be abolished. The family unit, which only dampens imagination and curbs free will, must be eliminated.”

"Kill the white people, we're gonna make them pay, kill the white people, but buy my record first."

Are you telling me, with a straight face, that there was no concerted effort on the part of homosexual activists to achieve what I have listed? Namely,

-gay marriage
-the right to adopt children
-the inclusion of gay characters on every television show
-the homosexual-friendly education of children.

I think what they are trying to say with a straight face is that they want you to produce evidence to support your claim.

you want to think about that a bit.

If we gays hate the traditional family so much why is it issue #1 on 'the gay agenda' to be allowed to marry and adopt children?

Yeah, we hate the traditional family so much we are fighting tooth and nail for the right to participate in it. Give me a flippin' break.

Yeah, this is what I don't understand.

I think family's a good thing, even though I don't participate in it myself. (I think I'm worse off for that fact.)

So why would I want to exclude homosexuals from it? Why would I want to condemn them to a life without family?

If family is a good thing, if it's good for society, then we should have as many people participating as possible.

That's why I support gay marriage. (Or, more correctly, gay civil unions, because I think the state should only have the power to grant civil unions, not marriages -- but that's not going to happen, so I'm left with supporting gay marriage.)

I mean, really, how can I look at myself in the mirror in the morning and feel good about myself if I support a policy which, in practice, means that someone out there is going to die alone without their beloved by their side, just because they like boys instead of girls or girls instead of boys?

I'll be honest, I'm repulsed by the idea of gay sex. But by the same token, I'm repulsed by certain kinds of straight sex. And I'm repulsed by the foods some people eat. But so what? If I don't like it, I don't have to engage in it, or even think about it.

No doubt, millions of people are repulsed by the foods I eat.

And I honestly fail to understand how a man can look another man in the eye and say "I love you" in the way that I have said it to the women in my life.

But you know what, I don't have to understand.

What I do understand is that it's cruel to tell someone that he or she can't marry the person they love, can't establish a family if they yearn to, can't enjoy the simple freedom of walking down the street holding hands, can't flirt and steal a kiss without fearing that someone's going to inflict violence upon them.

I want the freedom to do these things. So who in the world am I to tell someone else that they cannot enjoy that freedom simply because they want to enjoy it with someone I would not choose to enjoy it with?

The world needs more love. Who am I to oppose it?

To support what claim? The things I listed happened, and how could they happen without an organising effort on the behalf of the relevant population? Politicians just decided out of nowhere to legalise gay marriage? Anyway...

1. Same-sex marriage
2. ????
3. Pederasty

Makes perfect sense.

There is (was) a streak of tv sitcoms about overweight, middle class men married to above average looking women. Do you think there was an organized effort for that, or that it "just happened"?

is anyone here denying that the Gay Rights Movement had / has an agenda?
Seriously

It seems to me that it would be a poor excuse for a sociopolitical movement if it had none.

But how would that differ from any other self-identifying group- like the Teamsters' Union or the Music Recording Industry?

.

nope...i'm claiming this with a queer face.
(unlike homophobes, i only have one face.)
how dare you assume that i'm straight.:D
