This shows true stupidity

Not what you would expect, right? This shows how freaking stupid the left wing press have been and how arrogant and foolish they really are to have dragged this poor woman through the mud and have painted her as an idiot. They should all loose their jobs.

Yeah. This completely wipes away all the stupid things she's said.

Darn you, left wing press!

An idiot who has one good thought is still an idiot, just like a broken clock that has the correct time twice a day is still broken.

But but but your defense of her attack comes with your suggestion of the same treatment?

Props to Sarah on that one. But your statements are still laughable. An anomaly does not negate a tendency. No one needs to "loose" his/her job over this.

My complaint isn't that she states that evolution should be taught. It's that she said creationism should be taught along side it. Creationism (intelligent design) isn't science.

From the same article

In an interview Thursday, Palin said she meant only to say that discussion of alternative views should be allowed to arise in Alaska classrooms:

"I don't think there should be a prohibition against debate if it comes up in class. It doesn't have to be part of the curriculum."

That's like saying that there is no reason why we shouldn't be able to debate that 2+2 does not equal 4.

wait, what?

Premise: S. Palin says evolution should be taught in science class
Conclusion: she is not an idiot.

Can you break down the steps in that syllogism for me?

And yet in her own book Palin writes that she...
Palin said:
...didn’t believe in the theory that human beings — thinking, loving beings — originated from fish that sprouted legs and crawled out of the sea
She acknowledges that evolution is an "accepted principle" yet she doesn't accept it.

I'm inclined to chalk up her reply to Couric as (1) Palin moderating her views as a result of being on ticket w/McCain and (2) she has a long history of hiding her extreme beliefs in order to advance in politics.

Well, of course it is quite reasonable for a teacher to answer questions when they come up. I am also not against a teacher explaining the difference between a scientific theory and a untestable theory.

The problem is that's a different idea than what she said in her debate:
"Teach both. You know, don't be afraid of information. "Healthy debate is so important and it's so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both. And you know, I say this too as the daughter of a science teacher. Growing up with being so privileged and blessed to be given a lot of information on, on both sides of the subject -- creationism and evolution. It's been a healthy foundation for me. But don't be afraid of information and let kids debate both sides."

Did she try to force her beliefs while she was govenor of Alaska?

Have you ever been involved in a debate, if so have you never said exaxtly what you mean. If every misspoken word someone has to say is to be literally taken than we have 57 states, Obama is a Muslim and who knows what Bush and Biden have said.

Please be serious. What she said in the debate is not a simple mistake like saying 57 instead of 47.

In what respect Charlie?

Yes I have, and I know what miss-statements are. Typically, they are single sentence or single word flubs which don't make sense in context.

Here we have an entire argument, from beginning to end. An argument which is inherently consistent with a very common creationist design argument. So much so, that it seems ripped right out of the play book. Indeed, it is in direct agreement with the Alaskan Republican party position on teaching creationism.

According to the article which I provided
The Republican Party of Alaska platform says, in its section on education: "We support giving Creation Science equal representation with other theories of the origin of life. If evolution is taught, it should be presented as only a theory."

So, am I to believe her position was a "flub" of debate or a means of saying what is needed in order to get elected, or did her handlers convince her to tone down her opinion to make her more palatable on a national stage?
