Thanks, but we Knew that

There's plenty of current bias in the BBC, according to these guys:

http://biased-bbc.blogspot.com/

It strikes me that the BBC is up in arms about any Institutions which promote Christian values and which, gasp, might even take the view that homosexuality is not the ideal life-style. Now I am not a Roman Catholic, and I am well aware of the imperfections of that Church and the tragic failures that surround serial child abuse, but the BBC is using this to advance its own insidious agenda which is about removing Faith and substituting it's own secular anything goes agenda. The BBC would like to see the Pope arrested for "crimes against humanity" as one of the studio guests demanded, and I am certain that during the Papal visit the BBC will cheer-lead for the lunatic anti-Church fringe.

That's when it's worth giving up on that site.

It's a secular institution even though 'Thought for the Day' is on every damn morning?

I had a quick skim of it and I saw this one:

t's a funny old world, isn't it. The Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, Martin McGuinness casually informs the media that contrary to a previous on the record statement to the BBC, he HAD in fact met the killer Priest Father Chesney, ....snip... . So, rather than investigate this issue, BBC instead looked into budgie-breeding wars in the West Country. ...snip... Truly the BBC is not just biased but it is a moral vacuum.

Now that struck me because I thought I'd read that very story on the BBC newsite, and lo and behold my memory was correct:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-11262796

and

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-11258549

and

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-11251188

and

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-11251347

Once suspects that the "Biased BBC" blog and blogger may not be too concerned with the facts.

ETA: And I just realised that the first story I read was this one: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-11229268 which is dated 8th September, the blog entry is dated 9th September.

Anyone who accuses the BBC of bias obviously hasn't grown up with it or watched it for any extended period of time. It's almost frustrating in its impartiality. I suppose if you cut and paste you could make it out to be immensely biased ("Mr Brown, would you agree that your government is a tragic mess that gives incompetence a bad name?"), but what you would miss would be what comes next ("Mr Cameron, what makes you so sure you can reduce unemployment when your own party created such a ****-storm in that area?").

Wha...??? Skeptic hasn't been back to defend his awesome thread? Colour me surprised!

Yes, and your point being? When both sides are accusing the Beeb of bias it is generally a good indicator that they've got the balance right.

I often point out libertarian politics piss off both the left and the right, and therefore it must be correct.

People don't like it when your political philosophy eviscerates their designs on control of the nation for one thing or another.

Off topic, but i can't resist. I'm sure it won't derail.

Just saw the topic order on the front page. And it made me laugh. Posting will change it, so here's a pic:

Well, Neo-Nazis and Holocaust deniers also piss off both the left and the right.

Does this mean they must be correct, too?
