Miragememories, Bell was referring to an event that took place in 2006 or 2007 when the LCF forum blocked not whole Germany, but the IP range of the major german ISP to stop Oliver and his sock puppets.

Sunday evening i told Oystein, with whom i had a casual PM exchange over the last time, about this old story, because i thought he was banned from the LCF. Reason was that i couldn't access it since Sunday evening, after i read a few posts there following Oysteins link earlier in this thread. Got this message:

Remembering the old story, i thought they blocked me with Oystein (i'm not too far away from him and may use the same ISP). I told him that i can't access it (not that my part of Germany is banned, Oystein!), but also told him that that happened before and may just be a coincidence, after he told me he was skeptified and still could access it.

Two hours or so ago i was still blocked. I had the same IP-adress since Sunday. I just disconnected and got a new one - and now the LCF is back again.

So yes, maybe JFK blocked the wrong German.

Yes, you made that mental connection "LCF put a wide ban on German internet users before" and "I am banned now, despite not personally being targeted" and "maybe Oystein was banned" and "we are geographically close, in the same part of Germany".
A casual summary would be "CE thinks there is a ban on users in a certain region of Germany".

Assuming you did not change your ISP and also not your geographical region, your being "banned" yesterday is best explained by LCF still enforcing an anonymous ban on some IPs issued by your, German, ISP. Or maybe on IPs identifiable by geographic region in Germany.

"just a coincidence"? Hardly.
Ask the guys at LCF. There are no coincidences ^^

If i'd have had clear evidence of any malfeasance i may have posted it. As we now established, changing the IP helped. I don't recall if i changed IP between sunday afternoon and evening. It's possible that that single dynamic IP at my popular ISP was blocked long ago for reasons completely unrelated. There are other explanations.

But maybe someone blocked the wrong German. Doesn't change the fact that openly sharing information about when or why i change my IP address or can or cannot access certain websites is entirely up to me, Oystein. You have shown that you are not a trustworthy person.
