I got banned almost immediately, just for asking a question.

Someone had posted a story how NORAD should have had no problem having fighters intercept AA11 before it got to NYC.

I simply asked how, because the time was rather short. (yes, I was truly polite.)

I was banned within minutes of posting. It was my ONLY post.

It was just a few hours after that when I started lurking the JREF.

I was in fact banned from all but 1 subforum of LCF.

We may call that subforum "The Skeptics Ghetto".

This goes back awhile. They wanted to ban one poster (and a sock or two) and banned most of Germany in the process. I think Bell meant it as a joke.
