A Qur'an Got Burnt at 9/11 Mosque Protest

What specific "religious opinion" do you think should be applied to his "Nazi ass", and what do you hope the results of the application of that "religious opinion" will be?

the opinion should be "he is a Nazi".

the result should be "teach his Nazi ass a lesson".

:D

But it is absurd to ignore the fact that Islam has a large and powerful contingent that sees violence as the real way of.

They have, really?

And who is the top commander controlling this whole contigent loyal to this country you call Islam?

Wait, do not tell me is Jalal...

:lolsign:

Are you a critcal thinker? Really?

...it is absurd to ignore the fact that Islam has a large and powerful contingent that sees violence as the real way of.

What does 'large' mean? Keeping in mind that there are about 1.5 billion Muslims in the world, what percentage of Muslims does this 'large and powerful contingent' constitute?

It's true that there are, needless to say, bloodthirsty Christians as well, but nobody (not even the murderers) ever claimed killing their victims is their religious duty.

The Kosovo crisis, Irish conflict, Rwandan genocides, Christianity played an important role in all of these. Of course, these were not religious wars, but due to social/political reasons, but then Islamic terrorism is also not a religious war, but is a result of social/political reasons. Religion makes for a good rallying cry, and that is as true for the Christians in Ireland as the Muslims in Iraq.

The point is that Islam hasn't passed through the enlightenment and political and scientific revolution that made the first world the first world. It is still about where Christianity was ca. 1600.

How does a religion pass through a political and scientific revolution?

What you are basically doing is comparing the religious in the First World (who you are calling Christians) to the religious in less developed countries (who you are calling Muslims). Of course, that does not have to have anything to do with religion.

That most Iranians, say, aren't violent (indeed, they suffer from the mullahs themselves) is no refutation that Iran is a theocratic terrorist state because of the mullahs' version of Islam.

I want to know how you can go from here to 'Islam is inherently violent', which seems to be your position (correct me if I am wrong).

That is simply false. Islam has 'bloody borders'. Christianity doesn't, at least not since the 1600s.

"I don't think Islam is any more violent than any other religions, and I suspect if you added it all up, more people have been slaughtered by Christians over the centuries than by Muslims." - Samuel Huntington, who you took that phrase from.

Christianity is represented by First World countries. Islam is not. So your 'bloody borders' claim is not an indictment of Islam so much as an indictment of the political and sociological situation in certain lesser developed countries.

Wait, where did he get the koran that he burned? Did he push someone down and take it from them? Kick in the door of a mosque and steal it? Because if he didn't, he's really more of a performance artist than Nazi.

I'm not sure how the inquisitions are relevant to my claim. You're argument would probably be easier to follow if it were an argument rather than a sarcastic remark.

It's simple enough to follow. You said 9/11 was not Islam so I replied that the inquisition was not Christian. In other words I was using an example of contrast to show what a dumb statement you made.

A common belief is that eventually everybody will convert to Islam because it's the one true religion, but that's hardly unique to Muslims.

Presumably, it's possible they're all just hiding the awful truth(TM) from me because I'm not a Muslim, but...

It's a bit special in Islam though, because some verses specifically command you to not evangelize because it is up to Allah who becomes a Muslim and when.

Of course, it's sometimes a bit worse when it comes to apostates...

He did not go far enough, He should have said Isalmic, Mohammadian, Quranic Parasites of the world orgonized by 57 Islamic majority countries as OIC. These countries are thug. Shouldn't have any right to vote in the UNO.
OIC are pushing for a binding resolution at the UNO to criminalize any criticism of religion in general and Islam in particular.

What "lesson" would that be?

that its not nice to burn people's religious texts.

Muslims seem to be very good at standing up for themselves, and defending their honor & people. We Jews could learn a lot from them. Muslims are known for not taking ****...while we are.

Muslims fight back, no matter how small a minority they are. Gotta respect that.

Wow, thunder, you're the the best side-stepper I've ever seen.

Well... second to best.

it beats your bigotry by lengths.

Do you believe the fast majority of Muslims does understand their religion wrong? and only UBL and other extremists understand Islam "the right" way?

So now you have descended to insults.

I assume that the majority of Muslims understand their religion better than you and that's why there was no universal condemnation of the terrorists.

I assume that the majority of Muslims understand their religion better than you and that's why there was no universal condemnation of the terrorists.

On the contrary, if you are referring to 9/11, then there was a very concerted condemnation effort from Muslim communities all over the world.

I cannot post links yet, so unfortunately you will have to do the research yourself. I hope you do so.

Are we to understand that all the Muslims who condemned the attacks as contrary to what they believe were in fact lying? That they actually believed the attacks were a good thing?
They can't win, can they?

Funny, whenever Jews do try to "not take ****" and "defend their people", as in Israel, you whine and moan and rant and cry and bitch about it endlessly. It's only when Muslim thugs threaten insensate violence that you are suddenly filled with admiration of their "bravery" and "not taking **** from anybody" and "defending their honor and people".

aww...looks like the Nazi lost his job.

too bad. that's what you get for being a dick.

:(..

I disagree, Thunder. I did not like bigots, but this guys did not made anything illegal and did not put anyone's life in danger.

This guys should sue his employees.

This is pure discrimination.

I agree with the short comments:

"Everybody's entitled to their opinion ... by firing him, they're sending a message that there's no freedom of speech. They're completely wrong for doing this."

"He's a family man," neighbor Randy McConnell, 43, said.

"He loves his kids and he loves trains. I don't agree with what he did, but he shouldn't lose his job over it. That's his right."

If Fenton was fired for burning the Koran while off-duty, his First Amendment rights probably were violated, Chris Dunn of the New York Civil Liberties Union said.

"The Supreme Court has recognized a constitutional right to burn the flag. As reprehensible as it may be, burning the Koran would be protected as well."

that its not nice to burn people's religious texts.

And just how would this proposed "fatwa" teach him this lesson? As a ruling on a point of Islamic religious law, fatwas are only binding on Muslims who follow that particular 'alim who issued the fatwa. This guy is not even Muslim, so how would your "fatwa" apply to him, Thunder?
