Tony Blair: GW Bush was brave and simple

In which case you cannot lay the blame on one policy alone.

Supply-side ecconomic policies made it legal to run the credit-default swap Ponzi scheme. It ruined us.

And before the idiotic tax giveaways, we had a means of keeping it under control without shutting down government functions.

Clearly, you are working from a false assumption.

As is anyone who thinks supply-side works.

For the middle class, perhaps, and only if you can isolate the influences of both New Deal and the trade unions. You cannot.

What is best for the middle class is best for the working class because it gives them someplace to move upward amd keeps them employed making goods and services. It is good for the rich because there is an oportunity to profit selling things that the working people make.

The unions were a key to making the New Deal work.

Supply-side and anti-unionism destroyed what made America work for seventy years.

Are you saying that economic theories are as testable as scientific concepts?

Yes. But I do not advicse it because it kills people if you are wrong.

Supply-side has killed people. It belongs on the copmpost heap.

Sure. Why don´t you stop, then? Argue honestly and don´t run away from your claims.

I think we can do without the sneering attitude and suspicious thinking.

You think, then, that running through the streets naked while covered in blue paint has be to tried as an economic policy before it can be discarded as useless?

I was not aware that anyone had made the claim that doing what you describe was an economic policy.

We can also do without your dishonest debating tactics. I´m not going to be the only gullible sucker who plays fair.

There is nothing dishonest about what I do. I merely asked what will work, and how you knew it.

Given your responses, we can say that you do not know the answers to any of these. That does make your swiping dismissals invalid.

Supply-side ecconomic policies made it legal to run the credit-default swap Ponzi scheme. It ruined us.

Hyperbolic claims do nothing to further a point.

And before the idiotic tax giveaways, we had a means of keeping it under control without shutting down government functions.

When, exactly, was this golden age?

As is anyone who thinks supply-side works.

That does not make you right.

What is best for the middle class is best for the working class because it gives them someplace to move upward amd keeps them employed making goods and services. It is good for the rich because there is an oportunity to profit selling things that the working people make.

That is your opinion. Others disagree.

The unions were a key to making the New Deal work.

Maybe a key, but not the only one. You need all factors, in order to say whether something works or not.

Supply-side and anti-unionism destroyed what made America work for seventy years.

But then, you have moved the goalposts: Now, it was much longer, and hence, not Reagan's fault.

Yes. But I do not advicse it because it kills people if you are wrong.

Which economic theory is scientifically the best?

Supply-side has killed people. It belongs on the copmpost heap.

Which economic theory has not killed people?

I think we can do without the sneering attitude and suspicious thinking.

Just once in a ******* lifetime, give an honest reply to something.

I was not aware that anyone had made the claim that doing what you describe was an economic policy.

How do you know it isn´t? Have you tried it?

There is nothing dishonest about what I do. I merely asked what will work, and how you knew it.

If you´d ever bothered to honestly reply to anything I´ve said, rather than ignoring what you can´t answer or shifting the goalposts, I´d be much more inclined to answered your leading and dishonest questions.

Given your responses, we can say that you do not know the answers to any of these. That does make your swiping dismissals invalid.

Given your lack of honest responses to anything I´ve posted, we can say you know you don´t have a clue and are mere trolling.

I think we can do without the swearing.

How do you know it isn´t? Have you tried it?

That would be up to the one making the claim.

I think we can do without such wild unfounded speculative accusations.

Back at you. Supply-side didn't work. It never worked anywhere. IOt never will and never can work because it is superstitious BS.

Government stimulus of the ecconomy, protection of worker's rights, taxing the bejabbers out of war profiteers worked. We would, otherwise, probably be discussing not how much to raise taxes, but how best to track down and eliminate the last Jew, because Germany would have won WWII.

There is nothing dishonest about what I do. I merely asked what will work, and how you knew it.

Dishonest? That would be the least of it.

Mindless?

Fer shuuuuuure!

Are you in the room? Protection of the trade unions was part of the policy. Is your mind too narrow to admit that data?

Which economic theory is scientifically the best?

The New Deal worked. Jelly-brain's supply-side hockum didn't and we are still hurting and probably will for a few years as a result. Whether the New Deal was the best idea ever, it sure beats the hell out of anything the GOP has offered in DECADES.

The same can be said for any economic theory.

Government stimulus of the ecconomy, protection of worker's rights, taxing the bejabbers out of war profiteers worked. We would, otherwise, probably be discussing not how much to raise taxes, but how best to track down and eliminate the last Jew, because Germany would have won WWII.

That is speculation.

I think we can do without the personal attacks.

I already stated that it was part of the New Deal.

The New Deal worked. Jelly-brain's supply-side hockum didn't and we are still hurting and probably will for a few years as a result. Whether the New Deal was the best idea ever, it sure beats the hell out of anything the GOP has offered in DECADES.

That is a judgment call.

Still waiting for that honest reply.

You said it is impossible to know something didn´t work unless your tried. So, should running around naked while covered in blue paint be tried as an economic remedy?

Are you making that claim?

While we're on the topic of happy endings, here's a funny cartoon comment on Tony Blair's ill-fated book signings.

ETA. The building in the cartoon is Her Majesty's Prison Wormwood Scrubs.

Then do you admit that "you have to test it before you know it won´t work" is wrong?

Your hypothetical is not relevant to the issue. That is what you fail to grasp.

'If rabbits were blue, does that mean gravity does not exist?

If you cannot admit to this, you are wrong.'

It is nothing but Jabberwockian logic.

Your refusal to reply does nothing to support your case. I can think of dozens of hypothetical political systems that don't have to be tested to see that they won't work. You probably can too. So you misspoke. Big deal. We all do sometimes. Just admit it and let's move on.

I did not misspeak. There is nothing to reply to, since what was offered was something other than a political theory.

Hence, Jabberwocky logic.

You´re being ridiculous.

I´ll just file that as "too stubborn/arrogant/fanatical to admit any kind of mistake" and be done with it.
